But what can I do, I don't know how to play or do anything, my first experience with macros was accidental. My first experience using magic was accidental not to mention I got everything I own from help. All I want is some help to learn the game.

Have you tried reading the website? have you tried reading the forums?!
I started playing this game 12 years ago, i didnt understand a single word of english!
Wanna know how i first died?! It was on britain bank, i found a wand on the ground and i didnt know what that was... i double clicked it to see what happened and i had it equiped with a target cursor showing!
I wanted to get that target off since it was annoying.. so i clicked on the ground, and guess what happened?! i casted an energy field out of that wand and the guards kicked my ass!! i died and lost everything!! i didnt have a single house!!!
But i didnt quit!
No single player ever helped me!! And i didnt cry about it.
You lost a few items you got... worth 25k? the first week in this server i lost a sword which was worth 50k, only the sword!!! i didnt quit...

Amen. I know losing everything you have seems kinda shitty, and that it pissed you off that someone trashed your items, but that is the nature of this game... In fact, pretty sure I speak for most when I say that's the reason we still play it. Everyone has those noobie memories we've all been there. You are going to get pissed off a lot and lose a lot more items if you plan to learn how this game works and how to play it Wink

If you do decide to suck it up and learn instead of quitting, chances are that you'll be hooked.

edit: I'm sure there are people that have the time/are willing to play with you and teach you things about the game. I'd offer but time is pretty limited for me until the summer.
edit again: Find secluded places to hunt where players won't go to try to hunt YOU. I would start with cemeteries, that's where I started and just like you I had never played the game Tongue Met a PK and low and behold, we became best friends and had a reign of terror on a 500 client server.

i only played on OSi servers for the first free month and I probably only played for the first two weeks. This was probably 1998. I thought the game and the whole idea of this thriving online world to be really cool but i was disappointed that OSI didn't do enough to police the naming of players or have a server that was more mature and rp oriented. So after that free month trial i cancelled.

Then probably a year later i found the free servers. I think the first serve I played on was Novus Opiate, then Flint Hills, then IN, then so many to list. I didn't play UO from like 2003 to 2011. Then just recently i started playing again.

I still don't get why OSI never established an RP server.

I played on OSI - Catskills for a while. I remember taking my install CD to my uncle's so my cousin and I could play. At this point my account was only a week or so old. I let my cousin make a character on my account because he said he wanted to go around killing rats. I ended up going home that afternoon. He created a character named "Skullcrusher." That evening I found out my account was banned for a day or two. I was ticked off and I called my cousin and he said he spent the whole time following people around cursing and harassing them.

[COLOR="white"]I recall vividly my first UO experience. An old friend and I had been fans of the Ultima series long before UO, and followed the development of UO feverishly. We'd made all these grandiose plans to start a guild and run a shop making bows and arrows. It was basically all we'd talk about at school during cigarette breaks.

Anyway, he'd managed to buy the game before me, (I'd needed a pc upgrade to play UO) and one night we were having a shindig at his place, about 6 or 7 people and there were drugs and alcohol involved.

So we were all taking turns on his pc, walking around Britain and basically being a nuisance to people, when suddenly we get teleported to jail. Soon after, a GM shows up and informs us that the account would be closed for a day or two. We stupidly began to try and reason with him, telling him it was harmless fun, blah blah blah, and he wasn't having any of it. So here we are, begging for leniency, to let us off the ban, when I came up with an idea.

I said, "Let me sit in the computer chair, I'll sort this shit out," So anyway, they made room, and I sat down in front of the pc and went ahead and attacked the GM. Bad move. The gm quickly turned his immortality on, yelling, "Calm yourself!" and soon after we were kicked for a day.

My old friend did get his account back though, after the ban. But he wouldn't let us touch it after that.

Dying and losing items is a huge part of this game, so if you can't handle that then you shouldn't play.

But also let's not gloss over the fact that trashing somebody's stuff (somebody random that you don't know - not somebody you hate, have fought, opposing guilds, factions, etc) and bragging about it is *******ry and not something that we should be condoning.

Ok, here's how you learn.

Read everything here: http://in-uo.net/info/beginners-guides

Then, read the thread for new players here: http://in-uo.net/forums/showthread.php?4...w-Players]

Finally any further questions like how to cast spells etc, or what happens when I cast wall of stone, ask in the in-game public chat, either on the website here: http://in-uo.net/forums/view.php?pg=chat

or in-game by typing ".c what you want to say" without the quotation marks.

edit: Sometimes UO Stratics (google it) can help, its information isn't always correct for a free shard like Imagine Nation, but it does have stuff like maps, explanation of housing systems, boats etc.

Um I may have this wrong but you are crying over losing stuff someone gave to you anyway?

This is my first experience with PvP and Razor/EUO/ etc... The instant I lost my young status I got killed and all my stuff taken, stuff I actually worked to get (not given to me). It happens, get over it and get back into it. Read the forums and get on chat, you read lots of useful tips and learn how to do stuff, there are also plenty that will tell you a thing or two.

But seriously... Crying over stuff you got given... Just get back in the game and learn. Adapt and enjoy.
