Guild looting
#1

Due to recent events I'm making a stand when it comes to looting guildhouses and I've decided that it is not allowed. This is not a carebear server but if a guild gets looted that can damage a big part of the community and possibly make them quit. It will also make it much more difficult for new players to find guilds to join since people will only recruit those they trust.

I think most players will agree with me on this, there is nothing good about guild looting really.

Regular house looting is still allowed though and if you are the only person in the guild then that counts as regular house looting as well.

well said sir.

If I'm a one man guild and happen to let someone in my guild and they loot me that's ok ?
Or do you mean that regular house looting is ok just not a guild house ?

"Would it not be best to say that you may not loot a guild by joining them in order to gain access to steal there stuff ? "
but if you open your door and I stealth in that's legit right ?

The way you say it, is if your one person you can get robed but if its a big guild you cant...
Just wanted exact clarification.

It's probably better to say that guild looting isn't allowed period, no matter how you gain access to the items. Otherwise it be difficult to check how they got looted.

I was just witness to douchebaggery in Britain. While I was macroing on top of the bank some asshat was talking to some other fellow. I saw mention of [Ghost] and this asshat being in the guild at one time. He then started to share a tale of deceit. He said he was in the guild up until the point where he looted 1,000 of every scroll, pots, and some other stuff. He said the guild whined to the GMs and he had to return the items. Then he proceeded to say he lied to the GMs and told them he was role playing as a friend or something that stabs his mates in the back.

They both had a good laugh.

I sure hope a great majority of the player base doesn't share the same mentality as the aforementioned jerks. That type of behavior is off-putting. With the recent arrival of the grief squad there's definitely a sour feeling.

With a great shard comes a large population and with a large population comes a few jerks. Just be careful who you deal with and eventually you learn to spot the jerks easily. I always kept my rare/expensive stuff banked or locked up in a private house away from even real life friends who played and I've never lost anything to anyone except a few bags of reagents, armor, etc.

Just know that there are people who want to try to backstab and plan accordingly.

Would it be possible to limit the weight or how many items the guild house can contain then? Otherwise people will just use their guild houses instead of their real houses.

sorry but that sounds stupid, a guild should carry alot of items. With my guild I plan to have containers and containers of armour, weapons, potions etc etc

What's with you guys and just wanting to kill people in houses? you do relise people go hunting and stuff...you will get to kill people doing that. I wouldn't find killing someone afk very fun

Nah, anything i own personally I keep in my own storage areas away from everyone. Cus people in guilds tend to use other peoples stuff even without asking and most of the time it is worked out within guild communication. Only reason i see people would store stuff at a guild house location is for everyone to use. Its good to share but anything i have i don't want to share id keep in my own personal area especially rare items.

hmm yeah I guess it depends on how much you trust guildmates etc

back in FW days we were a pretty close unit and i would never feel they would take without asking

This is my point exactly, It would be fine to use it to help the guild with resources and such new players etc. But if you can't be house looted in guild houses people will just use their guild houses as their main houses which would mean 0 house looting in general.

Which is bad how? Not everyone is in a guild, you can go loot all those non guilded houses as much as you want.

This whole griefer mentality that your collective group is putting out is very tiring, everyone worth their weight is in a guild, everyone has a bank at the guild. House looting is a bygone thing from a bygone era
