How good is higher AR?
#1

I basically want to know just that: is there a benefit of having 80 AR vs. 35 AR? And how much does the benefit drop off, because it seems like at a certain point there is no reason to go higher (ie about 50 or so).

I have not played in a while but when I had 80 some ar I almost died to one crit with the Hells Hally. so does 50-80 make a difference probably but I doubt that much of a difference in the armors between the 50-80 but 80 I would say does make a difference. if that makes any sense.

No one that ive seen pvp's with HH, BW, and high end ar so as long as you were not ganked by a 3v1 id use higher end armor it will help allot in pvp just also use a vanq or HH with the armor.

Like I said I havn't played in a while so not 100% sure.

Yes there is really a big advantage to having high AR points. The thing is though, there really isn't a big difference between sapphire (the best plate) and aqua (mediocre plate), only 19 AR points. So really the shield is your most important tool in PvP if you are trying to minimize incoming physical damage.
Basically you are right, 50 armor without a shield is plenty. With a shield though you want to be in the 90's-100's.

ah i see, thanks habibi. Id also still like to get an answer from someone who knows the scripts, like eru or taran. I just want to know how the actual formula works
#5

I'm not going to release the formula but the more AR you have the less damage you will take, it has no max damage reduction so if you were able to get 200 armor you would be pretty much unkillable without spells.

ah i see, thanks taran, thats basically what i wanted to know (whether or not it dropped off or there was a cap)
