If I ping game.in-uo.net I'm getting about 150ms of latency. That's not bad at all IMO. This is down from 250-300 before Taran had the 100mbit uplink added.
Sweden's internet rocks the shit out of America's internet for reasons that would take an hour to discuss. The short version is Sweden added their internet backbone later than the US and used fiber line; also the US is too busy spending all of its money blowing up brown people to invest in our own infrastructure.
Another bonus is that the computer that Taran has is better than any dedicated server we'd be able to get, plus he has a 100mbit/100mbit connection which is also more than most dedicated servers.
The only thing he has to pay is the electricity to run it and the internet fees, which is a lot less than a dedicated server. I think that it would be better to keep it in Sweden and use donations to pay for the electricity and the new 100mbit connection, plus any forum upgrades, etc that we might need.

That's kinda weird since my connection hasn't been upgraded yet. They said it would have been done 2 days ago though so I'll have to call them again.

Could just be a good day, then.
I did a
ping -t game.in-uo.net >c:\ping.txt and let it run for a while with this result:
Quote:Ping statistics for 90.231.130.132:
Packets: Sent = 107, Received = 107, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Control-C
Apparently it's even better today. :3

Well Taran.. Are you able to give us a rough estimate of what it would take to relocate the server rather then say 'It's going to need alot of donations".. I'm sure alot of us playing uo are working (minimum 25 years old) and working.. We pay for other games.. so why not donate a little to a free server..
Any idea of how much you would need.. I would contribute a decent amount to relocate the server.

Lol word on that.
Seems like its more of a problem moving the server then its worth since IN needs more donations and not everyone can or will donate.
Get a better internet first then *****.
