Player Killing
#1

I haven’t played UO in years, thought it might be fun to restart, and for the most part it has been, but being killed in Brit in a guarded area and not even knowing who tabbed in on me is just wrong, you want to pk thats fine, Please role play me and I will be more than happy to LOOSE ALL MY HARD EARNED GEAR, other wise leave me the hell alone to do my own thing in town….

Hey serp, unfortunately I think you will always run into some jerks that like to have fun out of killing innocent people who are just macroing. My suggestion to you is to macro away from a bank if possible, head to less popular towns, or try and save up for even a small 1 room house so you can macro safely there.

You should also add a line saying guards to any macros you run (some areas have signs posted asking you not to spam guards), and if you're using Razor try to take advantage of restock agents so you only take a few supplies on you at a time if you're macroing in town.

Also if ur Serp from Lycan don't join an Order Guild....

If not then just make sure ur aware of your surroundings and in someone attacks you in brit while you are blue just call guards....

well I wasent macroing, i was walking in town just up from the bank and Dead, one lightning strike, DEAD...OH WELL
#5

Ah, well if it was just one lightning strike and you had 100 hp, my guess is you don't have resisting spells GMed. Since pvp on IN:X is based on XUO pvp, if you train evaluating intelligence your spell damage will go up, and if you train resisting spells you will take less spell damage.

If you died from ONE lightning strike towards your head when you had 100hp then I'd say Shade was bored and had fun with the .kill command Rolleyes (j/k) Wink

Nah but do what they suggested. Don't join any order/chaos guild until u're good enough to defend yourself against gankers in blue towns. If they still try to kill you (unless u're karma grey) u'll be able to call guards on them. Macro your resist like Eighty said, because it will make spells towards you do less damage, and also macro your eval int and your spells will do more damage vs others, so that will help as well. :]

Thanks Hate, I will take the advice, but I do hope an archer can survive here.

Hehe, well I strongly recommend that you get some way of healing yourself though. Either through bandages, potions or a greater healing spell. If you have that then you should be OK at least if you are a hunter :] If you are a dueller with other players then I would strongly recommend magery since it is an important part of our PvP (Player vs Player) style here :]

There is a skill stone in the pits which you can use to choose three skills to start with. Plus your character started with 50% in two. Pick magery as one of the three skills and you should be OK, but like I said, macroing eval int and resistance is always good as well, if you want to stay alive as good as possible, and be able to fight back a little :]

If you still feel that you want to go all archery-style and no magic then I'd suggest macroing healing, anatomy, magic resistance and archery, plus buying some greater healing potions. That's probably the best way for you to stand a chance as a pure archerer here at IN-X. Best of luck to you! :]

Further to Hate's comment about the skill stone, you want to try and save this for the harder to macro or longer to macro skills. In your case I would take resisting spells as one, also magery since magic is a very crucial skill here if you want any hope of defending yourself. Things like evaluating intelligence, anatomy (should train that for doing more melee damage), etc are easier to macro then some other things. If you will be hunting you might want to take provocation or peacemaking as the third skill.

what is a good way to raise magic resist on here? I've found that i get whooped by anything with the word "mage" or "spectre" in the name. haha
#11

running through a fire feild is a good way to macro resisting spells, I think there is a macro in the player guides section of the forums for it.

Like Luda said you can cast firefield and walk through it, if you don't want to do that I believe casting magic arrow on yourself will also help. I have magic arrow scrolls I can sell you if you want to do it this way. And as a special bonus you will also raise magery at the same time.
