Is there a global chat channel or a list of channels? If there is how do I use it?

Chat is unfortunately a useless function. The best I can suggest to you is to type .on and this will give you a list of all players currently online, and I think not hidden. GM's are also listed here at the beginning of the list if they're not hidden. You can then hit the arrow next to someone's name and you will get a box where you can type a message to send them. They'll see the message in the bottom left corner of the screen.

No sir. If you want to chat or message a single person you can type ".on" and click the arrow on the right hand side of their name.

I hate IRC and TeamSpeak actually. I use WASTE and Ventrilo instead.
