House Building?
#1

How is someone building a custom house inside of cove like in a guarded area?
#2

Hm I'd imagine they are able to do that because I put an empty lot there for that person. You'll see why when its finished... Either that or I will have to beat down someone for not living up to my expectations.
In any case, it will be a public building so no need to worry.

so if i wanted to build a public custom house in brit i would be allowed?

It's possible, but it depends on intent, I'm sure. I was intending for what I'm making to be a surprise, but I guess I'll spill it now to get rid of any worries:

I'm making a rune and book library. I intend to put runes to virtually anywhere you could want to go in IN-X without having to build or maintain your own list of runes. I think it'll be really convenient not to have to go mark your own runes or remember where you put them.

I'm also hoping that when it's completed, I can accept story submissions in the form of books that can be locked down for some light reading and to add atmosphere.

The building will be public, though I have a small room in the back that is locked for me to store stuff in, but if it becomes an issue, I can unlock that also and just recall to carry building supplies or rune books.

If everyone feels that his is un-fair treatment, then I'll gladly keep all the runes and rune-books to myself since I'm only now realizing how much work this is going to be.

Oh, I nearly forgot. The roof will have a beer garden with bartender, tables, piano, and the return of my rat races. Smile

Depends on the purpose of the house and location really. Of course you'd have to prove that adding such a house would be worth the time and beneficial to others as well.
This one is being built as something most or all players will visit quite a few times I believe and it will add a little more casual rp flavoring to the shard. If it doesn't meet certain standards I have for it, the player will lose the gold they paid for it and I will remove it.

dont we already have rabbi's ministry that has runes?

or are u adding hunting spots? which might i add some ppl like to keep their hunting spots secret so they don't have to keep waiting for the monster to re-spawn...

the locked room i feel is definietly unfair.

I'm guessing it's the one up by the armorer? I think it's a good idea from what I've read so far.

A church that had special things in the basement to lure you down? No thanks...

lol. Tongue And yeah, he has those two books down there. One for towns and one for dungeons, but that's hardly a complete library.

And I'm not doing this for personal gain (over a half-million gold sunk into it already and I'm just starting), or to have a special club house in cove. The house is un-guarded and when I finish decorating and making a basic set of runes for the library, the doors will be unlocked, so I can't use it as a house.

I'm making the library purely for convenience, and because I had one on XUO that was really popular.

Great initiative, Sindern!

*EDIT* Don't ruin yet another thread please. /Taran

Sindern/shade only reason im saying this is because from my point of view there's no need for another house when rabbi already has stuff that does the same thing, why not add another book down there if u want to help out and add more stuff? It would save u money and time on building it AND it would serve the same function, which is why i believe there must be some underlying personal gain from this since u could just add another rune book to rabbi's ministry church in brit...
