The huge project I was working on at work is finally over and I'll have time to myself again. I can't promise I'll have the motivation to see any of this stuff to completion, but it can't hurt to throw some ideas around.
I'm looking for things the keep the
community entertained, not so much the current players.
- My first idea is to make some sort of text based system on the website. ...you could log in using your ingame credentials and select which player you want to use. Players registered to use the system could attack each other in a turn based sort of way and get points for items/prizes that could be redeemed ingame. Attack success chances would use the exact same code that are used ingame. This wouldn't really help the ingame player count all that much, but it at least keeps people active in the community.
Yankovic - "... Oh Nasir, sorry, you are teh greatest. I'm a fool, you were right all the time. please forgive me. ..." (possibly out of context)

Great initiative. I think your idea is very cool, I'd play it!

me too, ive played something like that before, there was also a lvl system on that and monsters you could attack, earn money/items from then duel other players. it was a good way of making time pass by, it would be nice to even get something back in return as you said

Make a king of the hill style system:
4 dungeons have specific regions that become activate, only one at a time, every like 6 or 12 hours. When an area is active have it track the amount of time a player is in that area for. The area should be active for about 5 minutes and maybe a one minute warning announcement before it becomes active. When players are in the area they would be rewarded for how long they stay in that area once the time is up, though the player needs to still be alive to get a reward. If you kill a player while the region is active and you were in the region you would get their bonus as well.
This was something I wanted to do a long time ago but I don't have enough faith in myself to do it correctly. I figured this would make players want to join due to a prize being awarded and it being a competition. Also, maybe four statues at the pits, one for each region, would have the name of whoever was in the region the longest. This way people may be a little more competitive over it.
I know, thats more of an in game idea :p
I think it would be nice if the website had an integrated shoutbox or irc channel. With an irc channel we could make bots to do trivia and games or whatever.
