How about having a shoutbox for the forums?

not sure if there is a mod for vBulletin for this, I know IPB has them so I was just wondering?

What is a shoutbox?

Its kinda like a mini chat room thing.

Might be a nice add but I'd hate to see it abused and used for flaming... Its bad enough that the forums have countless useless posts. Though I could see some plus sides to this as well. Might be easier for new players to get acquainted with other players or easier to find a sparring partner.

I know nothing about this stuff though but I imagine it might be a pain because well.. where would it fit? I would think that the forum would have to be resized. That might not be a bad idea though, I hate that the site and forums aren't directly linked.

forums and site not being linked is good so u don't clutter up your website with iframes...

anyways whoever has admincp has to install the mod, like i said idk if there is one for vbulletin but my guess would be there is since it's a popular thing for a forum to have, plus IPB Boards have one sooooo yea

also the shoutbox could be placed right above or under the vote link buttons

a pro for this would get players talking to other players while they on the forums and wut not, anyways most forums have them that's why i suggested it cuz i noticed this one didn't
