Wishful Thinking
#1

I was wondering, what is the possibility of making invisble potions craftable..?

Oh and while I'm wishing I honestly, and am not joking, think it would be killer if Dragons and Nightmares were tameable. I really am serious, I played on Flint Hills and they had those and it rocked. They were superhard to get because they would spawn in crazy places and take atleast 98 Taming and GM Lore to get. I think it would create a niche in the market.

I truly believe to have a successful economy, not only do you need a player base, but you need near unatainable items that require mass skill to get that can be sold for tons of money. The theory behind this is if a miner wanted a Dragon for protection while he mined away from Mt. Kendall he would have to mine a mass amount iron to sell which would be sold to crafters who would in turn make items, and the person who sold the dragon would now have more money to invest in other rare items that are craftable.

If any staff is interested I have other ideas...

Or if you want me to not bother you with these ideas let me know. I don't want to seem like I know more about running a shard then you guys. I just like items that are hard to achieve.

Like off the top of my head, for invisble potions a player would have to haved 95 Alchemy, With GM Hiding, Stealth, Magery since its like an Illusion.

The Tameable dragons/nightmare would kill the fun in pvp, gonna look like those shard where you fight with pets not with swords ( Or spells like here). Pretty lame.
I can bet the probably that sugest get forward is like 0.000000000000000000000000000000001% .

About the potions I always missed the invis potions. Sad

Well the thing about the pets is they are extremely hard to train, so its rare to even have them. And even if you did, I was on a shard where if people knew you had one they would be expecting you to use it and get a group together to kill it. And it was rare to see them used for PvP as main form of combat just for fear of losing it. But I see where your coming from. And yes invisible potions rock.

Also I wanted to add on my post from earlier. If they do implement any more special items they should not reveal the skills or items required to make them. Just let everyone know they are possible. Or make the recipe an insane quest, that would be cool... I would be more then happy to write story lines for any of these things.

Actually, If a GM were to ask me to write RP stories for anything they need I would be happy to do it. Btw, I can write good.

P.S. Before anyone tries to correct me, I was trying to be funny when I said I can write good...

Invisibility potions are in the works more or less. Not sure exactly when you will see them craftable as some fine tuning needs to be done with them.

Regarding dragons and nightmares: Dragons just won't work here in my opinion. Nightmares however, I have been debating for quite some time. I personally hate to see skills be useless and without a decent animal to fight by your side, veterinary is pretty useless. The problem is we do not have taming restrictions as far as how many pets/mounts you can control at one time. That means someone could eventually mass hoard them and unleash 50 one day causing nothing but trouble. I don't want restrictions on taming as far as a limit to how many pets you can control at once but because of that its complicated to make it so someone couldn't have an army of them. I have thought out a few possibilities to allow for them to be useful in pvm but I really don't want to see pets popping out during fights, that drives me nuts. In any case if nightmares are tamable one day we have to make sure they won't ruin hunting, unbalance pvp or cause any annoyances to players. Not to discourage the idea but... don't hold your breathe.

We welcome any fresh ideas though, so post away. Please try to make sure the ideas haven't been posted 50 times already elsewhere.

messing with PvP is one of the topics that ruins some ideas. Recently we have been assisting to a mass discussing about this. Why not mess PvP in world for players from IN and leave the XUO's PvP for events? This way players would interact more to learn each type. For instance a player that isnt good in PvP'ing would have more chances...

Of course that an army of dragons or nightmares would be bad but why not mark just this creature? to a limit of 1 or 2. Or have the number we want but only 1 unshrinked? For selling purposes...

We are in a time to exploit new ways to renew the shard and bring more players. Some are just adventurers, why not give them that? This selection won't help the shard, only PvP'ers can adventure along the world to have chance to survive? :x

I like the ideas, it would give more use to other skills and interact more the players.
Think about it. Why not a set of pets usefull? A polar bear to protect us, or a dragon or nightmare... Of course, as Shade said, with the proper limitations,...

Why not? Wink.

My thoughts:

Dragons/nightmares - would it be possible to script them in such a way where they can't attack players, similar to how when you attack someone with a blackwidow it does normal damage?

Invis pots - aren't these one of the regular pots? I thought we had disabled them as they were not there on sphere (correct me if I'm wrong). How would these work in the event they are added; drink the pot and you go invis, but once you move you are revealed (unless you have stealth and then you can walk x number of steps)?

PVP - Do I need to quote the merge agreement saying INX would use XUO style PvP? I really can't see Taran abandoning the principals set out from day 1 of INX.

As for making it XUO style PvP in events and IN style PvP in the world, think how hard that is; you would have to learn 2 types of PvP to play on INX.
I can honestly foresee those who don't like XUO style PvP not joining events and holding their breath until it gets changed to IN style PvP as well. As for those who like XUO style PvP, I think they'd have no choice but to go along with the change since the main thing most of them do is PvP and if they want to continue doing that they'd have to adapt.

I think if you make any changes to the PvP you open the door to allow for more and more changes to gradually be made. Eventually the XUO style PvP will get replaced altogether. I don't see how it's fair to make all the XUO players lose the one thing they're on this shard for vs making the IN players learn something new.

I always hear about how innovative and versatile IN players are, well be versatile now and adapt. It's not impossibly hard PvP, if people just tried it for more then 30 seconds or asked someone to spend some time teaching them they'd get over the mental barrier they put up against it. The PvP can't be soooo bad if an IN player is currently one of the best PvPers on the shard (galdor) and there are other IN players like Lederoil who manage just fine.

i have to agree with you, eighty. i would love to learn this PvP style if someone would teach me. I dont have the required skills to script an Injection macro like the good PvP'ers here have. I have always a lot of questions regarding to PvP in the outer world, because in events i think i would be able to manage myself with some razor macros. However, how do they target so fast, how this..., how that,... and i cant find no one to teach me.

But talking about this topic, i think you have to agree that this game is very old, dont you think? we cant stick to sphere that is very old aswell. We have a lot of players that play this game for a long time, and new things to do, to use, would be nice. Dont you think?
Pets as bodyguards would be fun, why not to try them? my question in these ideas is always "why they say no? why not try them? if it doesnt work we remove them, correct them".

It's time to implement new things to IN:X, we got potential :x.

I would like to see these ideas, with the proper limitations,...

I don't like rideable dragons, and it has nothing to do with pets being useful, as I see it - today we add dragons, tomorrow we will ride Vortexes and so on:/. However nightmares are fine I think. As I remember those had about 250str or something like that...

About PvP and scripting on injection, you don't need anything like that to set PvP macro. Our autoload.sc from website already contains basic PvP script, all what you need is to set your hotkeys and to change ID of mana pots, cos on XUO our mana's ID was same with stamina refresh potions, and this basic script was made on XUO. Setting hotkeys is easier than making macro on razor, since you don't need to record anything, just type "exec scriptname".

Injection requires extensive knowledge only to make crafting/gathering scripts. You will learn how to write 2-3line PvP scripts within 10mins.

When I said allow Dragons I never intended it to be meant to be rideable. Having a dragon as a pet like you would have a dog or cat.

I can be wrong but I think we had those on IN, well at last I played on a shard where had it.
They worked same as invis spell.
