Eighty Swords Wrote:Well it's not my fault someone chose a poor skill to spend their time GMing. Maybe they should have gone for BS or carpentry, or even both. That would let them make all the armor sets, the special weapons, forges, anvils, pentagrams, and other items that will sell for decent or even good profits.

If you wanna make the special wepons you need GM BS, Alchemy,Tinker and Tatics.

And Special Bows GM BS, Bowcraft, Tatics, Tinker and Poisoning (on one of them).

And the Recipes Wink

So for all special wepons you need GM:
BS, Alchemy, Tinker, Tatics, Bowcraft and Poisoning.
Also GM Mining to get the ores for those weopons. Daemon, Black Rock, Black Diamont, Adamantium, Mytheril.
Pass the quests for Recips.
Get the special igredients that drop only on one monster.
Some dragon scales for certains wepons and ropes for Bows.......... also some other igredients.

How you see after gm BS or Even all the skill needed you still have a long way to start crafting your goods.

Srry for the double post but I dont wanted to edit the other one for one more time.

Eighty Swords Wrote:My point that you keep missing is they most likely don't need to carry as much at a time.

Like I said previously , To craft a HH I need 16 daemon Steel, I cant go to mine and get 16 daemon in 30 minutes ( just if is a lucky bastard).

I need to stay there for a long time mining like I had on the past to gm bs. So I still need to fill my bag some times and go to bank and come back to mine............ So yes I need to carry much weight.

You're right Ryuuku, it does take a long time to get the skills and items needed to make special weapons and that's the way it should be. Gives them a reason to be so expensive. And when I mentioned the special weapons in my last post it was just an example of one way to make money, some of the other things I listed like forges and anvils only take 2 skills, pentagrams and armors are only 1 skill, etc. So there are still lots of ways to make money GMing only 1 or 2 crafting skills.

How does the staff feel overall on this? Are you leaning towards changing the script or adding this craftable item? Any insight on what it would take if it's a craftable? Another option is you do a 10 minute quest or whatever and then you earn the item! I think that's a good middle ground; you don't have to pay 30k or however much of your hard earned gold, and you still have to do something to earn it.

I think We could do the two ways, quest and a craftable item.

If the item gonna down the weight in 50%, make it Down in 30% and make a quest to bost you max weight capacity (in 100 stones or whatever you guys decide) . So if you wanna carry the MAX you can , you will need to do both, the quest and buy the item.

But you will still have the choice to do just the quest for beggin, and after you get some money you can buy the item to carry the MAX.

Well I am not entirely sure as some decent ideas have been suggested here. Those who know me probably know I like making things difficult to get and need to be earned. However, since this would be for everyone and not just vets I may have to think outside my own box for once.

We have the idea of increasing max weight a player can hold. This would almost definitely require a quest to be achieved. Maybe some alchemist wants you to do some quest and gives you some potion that will up your physical tolerance, allowing you to carry more... or a tailor that rewards you with a superb backpack that is so well tailored that it doesn't hinder you as much with alot of weight in it. Just my thoughts on this idea.

If we were to add bags that reduced weight, well there is many factors that need to be thought out. For example, do we just let a person only carry one bag? If so and you kill someone with a full bag while already having a bag, well that would be beat. So we would probably have to allow multiple bags to be carried. If we did that though, where do we draw the line? If I put a magic bag inside another and another and so on... well that could make things weigh nothing, practically. So we would have to make sure that while you can carry more then one, they cannot be put into each other. Also if you can in fact carry multiple bags then the weight they reduce should be rather low.

If it was added and you could hold several, they would most likely be made per item type. That way you could have your pvp bag and your loot bag, so you can hunt without worries of weight while readily able to defend yourself.
Well thats my thoughts on that at least.

If we wanted to just do this for resource gathering we could just do something with pack animals which would be easier. Though this is all just some random thoughts. No idea if this will be added or not though so keep that in mind.

Multiple bags being allowed is fine, you just set it so that:
1. a bag cannot be put inside another bag.
2. a fixed percentage of weight reduced.
(This is so having 2 bags for ore/igs gives you no benefit over just 1)

This allows you to carry multiple bags without having to nerf the amount they reduce.

Different bags for different stuff would be cool, as long as they arent so expensive it makes it stupid to use them. Like no one is gunna go hunting/pvp with a bag that costs 40k. Its just not worth it. 10k or so per bag I could see using that if they reduced weights by like 30% for hunting/pvp supplies, 50% for loots/resources.

That would definitely be handy for doing big dungeon runs like deceit, I'm always out of weight space in there.

CONTINUATION FROM ANOTHER THREAD - MERGED TO HERE

Ryuuku Wrote:Can make comodit deeds usable for get the resource ( I mean just take off the resource from it) anywhere?

When I want to move things to my house I have two options drop walk some tiles drag it and drop some tiles away and so on...

Or Polymorph get alot, go to house, come back to bank get more, go to house...

So if we could just get the deed, bring it to house and be able to get the resources from it there, would be great.

I undersntand if you say not. Big Grin
Sindern Wrote:I'd like to be able to add resources to them without having to cash it in, buy a new deed, and then re-deed the new stack. I overload my bank sometimes with all the logs and ingots I mine. :<

Making them cashable inside a guild container may work since you can't pick them up and carry them with you.

I like the idea of being able to cash CD's in a guild box, but it kinda screws over all the non guilded crafters. Couldnt it just be set so you can cash the deeds anywhere, but only deposit or add to a deed within a bank box or guild box?
#44

commodity deeds = checks
therefore you must go to the bank to cash it :p

I like the thought of being able to add to them without redeeding as that has been a nuisance since the beginning of UO. Though it all comes back to the fact the com deeds are the rl equivalent of checks and were designed to work exactly like them... well if banks in the real world accepted valuables as well as gold/money that is.

Of course UO is its own "real world" and is always able to change and adapt. Though on this topic, I just see a few flaws with com deeds being used outside of bank boxes that could be taken advantage of. Adding to them however is a change that seems perfectly fine.
#45

Like Jiraiya said, if you added the function to be able to open them in guild boxes it screws over the non guild people... that forces people to join a guild if they really want it and that makes for more pvp.

The problem with being able to open them anywhere is that you'll go overweight if you try opening it in your pack and not a container on the ground.

Adding sounds good though Smile
