Questions on Stacked Items
#1

Here are a few questions I have on stacked items and this thread could serve as an FAQ once they're all answered. I'll try to keep editing this first post with the answer as they're posted so people don't have to read through the whole thread. Feel free to add your own questions as well, I'll add them to the first post too once they have an answer.

Q1: If I make 10 items and they appear as 10 unstacked items, how do I stack them?
A1: Drag and drop them ontop of each other like you would do with a resource like ore.

Q2: If I make 10 items and 2 of them are exceptional, can they be stacked with the others or do they have to go in their own stack?
A2:

Q3: (Depends on answer to Q2) If I want to remove an exceptional item from a stack of exceptional and regular items, how do I get the exceptional?
A3:

Q4: Do items with different powers or accuracy stack? Ex: Does a mace of power stack with a mace of vanquishing)?
A4:

Q5: If I have 10 items and each weighs 1 stone, does a stack of 10 weigh 10 stones or 1 stone?
A5: The stack would have same weight as the amount of items in it in your case the stack would weight 10 stones. - Odium

Q2: If I make 10 items and 2 of them are exceptional, can they be stacked with the others or do they have to go in their own stack?
A2: There are no stackable items that can be crafted as "exeptional"

Q4: Do items with different powers or accuracy stack? Ex: Does a mace of power stack with a mace of vanquishing)?
A4: weapons/armors dont stack

Q5: If I have 10 items and each weighs 1 stone, does a stack of 10 weigh 10 stones or 1 stone?
A5: The stack would have same weight as the amount of items in it in your case the stack would weight 10 stones

Is the list of stackable items that maka gave here accurate?

maka Wrote:Items:
All potions
Daggers
Bandanas
SkullCaps
Robes
Shoes

In that case, wouldn't everything other then the potions have a chance to be exceptional?

And what about this post by maka here;

maka Wrote:I r did it alreadySad Everything seems to have worked out though, and I also made sure that there was stacking validation code for most things.

Such as hue, quality, name, accuracy level, damage level, protection level etc etc. Hopefully, wrong items would not have been stacked together and no one will have lost their cool colored bandas cause they were stacked with the regular colored onesBig Grin

I'll leave the poll active though. This is something I'd like to do every month or so, to keep item count downBig Grin

If this is still accurate, the way I read it is that you can stack weapons (note where he says accuracy level, damage level).

I know the post dates are a little old so is it accurate or was the final decision that you can only stack potions?

Yay I'm not crazy!

Here are a few things that don't look right with stackable items to me Odium...

1) If the first item I make is not exceptional and all items I make after the first are exceptional and add onto the first one, they will all sell as not exceptional.

2) If the first item I make is exceptional and all items I make after the first are not exceptional and add onto the first one, they will all sell as exceptional (this is the opposite of number 1).

3) Items made from different materials stack. I made a copper dagger then an iron dagger and the iron dagger stacked on top of the copper dagger.

4) I made 3 exceptional daggers in a row and one non exceptional dagger and placed them on the ground as I made each one so they wouldn't stack. I picked them all up and when I went to sell them I had 4 items in the sell list; 3 x 1 dagger at 12gp and 1 x 1 dagger at 10gp. I then stacked the items ontop of each other and said sell again. Now I had 1 item in the list as 4 x 1 dagger at 12gp (my not exceptional became exceptional). I then unstacked the items, said sell again and now i had 4 items in the sell list; 3 x 1 dagger at 10gp and 1 x 1 dagger and 12gp > it's the reverse of before I stacked them!

I wonder if this is related to my last post in Questions and Answers. Here is a link.

You can make excptional Arrows/Bolst , kidlings...

And those dont stack with normal ones, I have a pile with like 200 bolts crafted By samurai and another pile with like 20k normal bolts. Same for kidlings.

When you make a dagger from other material it come as a normal iron dagger, same for any wepon you make with other material (excpt the special wepons).

From my experience if there is a variation in the item quality or color or anything else, they wont stack together. So you cant put 1 exceptional bandana on a stack of non and sell them all as exceptional. Doesnt work like that.

edit: sorry I just noticed a few bits in your post when i scrolled up that I didnt see before:

Your absolutely right that is most definitely a bug. They shouldnt be doing that. Which version of the tiledata.mul are you using? I'm not sure if it matters but it might be helpful to the devs when debugging this.

Thanks for explaining that Ryuuku, now item 4 on my list makes sense.

How can I check the file verison Jiraiya? I downloaded the tiledata file from the downloads section less then a week ago.

confirmed. if you have a dagger of vanq and drop onto a regular dagger they both will both be regular daggers when separeted, and vice versa if you drop a regular dagger on a vanq one they will both turn out as a regular dagger.

Ill bring this to the developers eyes. not sure this is a easy or hard fix.
