Patcher problems
#1

I'm having problems with the patcher, it tries to update it self and blows with the error:
Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file, You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

I'm running it as administrator on win7 should i move it to another folder or something like that?

Where's it running from? When it updates it does this:

Downloads the latest IN Patcher.exe and UpdateSwap.exe to the "Temp" directory in the Patcher Folder, then exits
Exectues UpdateSwap.exe, which waits for the patcher to not be running, then it copies the new patcher over to replace the old one, then runs the patcher.
The Patcher notices that UpdateSwap exists, then deletes it.

After that, it's all normal operations. Does it create the Temp Directory? If so, does it download anything into it? And does running it from another folder help?

Sometimes UAC on Windows may cause it to mess up even when running as administrator. :/ Maybe it's because it's trying to run UpdateSwap which isn't marked to run as admin.

Im running from the download folder and what it is doing is downloading the updateswap.exe to the same folder and after that it returns the error when it tries to execute it even if i try to run the swaper myself as admin the error us the same so probably the temp folder is the problem

Is it not creating the Temp folder? It should download "IN Patcher.exe" to the Temp folder, then UpdateSwap.exe to the same folder. If it's crashing when Update Swap.exe tries to run, you can just move the new one from the Temp folder and replace the old one.

I tried that and didn't work i downloaded the most updated version of the patcher anyway so i don't need for it to update it self no more thank you
#6

but the game is all messed up i used the most recent patcher, i have v6 0 14 3, razor is installed then i patched and the graphics are still messed up

Check here: http://in-uo.net/forums/showthread.php?5...hic-issues
Download the tiledata.mul for the client 6.x version for now. I'm having to recode the patcher now to add the ability to patch for either client version 6.x or 7.x because of some changes that they did to the files, but it's not ready yet.
#8

but if i update the client to version 7 something it will be ok?
#9

yes there is files you can download for client 7 and above somewhere around here, if you are experiencing "air mounts" I would manually delete your multi.idx file and redownload it.
#10

Im having the same issue, but neither of those files taran posted fix uo for me.
Im using client 6.w/e

Updateswap.exe <-- all the same problems as morwen and still can't fix it,
How did you fix it ?
#11

The easiest way is to just redownload the patcher: https://dl.dropbox.com/s/jatqbeluepdlfpb...atcher.exe
That link is always up to date.

yea i redownloaded the new one and it worked, but its not perfect since i had to chose version 6 to patch my version 7 client for it to work...
