Power Words
#1

I had my first taste of the PVP here. I might add it is not similar to that of sphere 51a. However, I think I can deal with the mana potions but can someone tell me how I go about reading power words. Like what are some quick judgements in duel that needs to be made to know if the opponent is casting a real spell or is just simply spamming a power word. Does the indent rule still apply here? If it does I still don't think that it is an efficient way of knowing.
So yeah any help or info on how to differentiate between power word and a real spell would be greatly appreciated. Smile

Animations, how long it takes for him to start swinging/hitting after power words, how long it takes for him to use the power words again (if it's fast, changes are the first power word was a fake, and second was real), place in battle (if you are on low HP and low mana, chances are you are getting flamed), his play style and reasoning (read him, how often and when does he do things) and last but not least, the different spams he has.

Last one is a bit hard, and you need to pay attention to details in the fight. You also have to been fighting him for a little while to notice the variations when he hits heal, fs or a spam. I've used power word here both as plural and singular, but normally people have multiple words.

EDIT:
What part exactly is it that you do not find to be like sphere 51?

What part I didn't find exactly like 51a is the mana pots Tongue. You change a single variable it changes the entire pvp. Here it seems you need to be very conservative on mana. On sphere you can dump every now and then for the hell of it. Here it would be utterly stupid to do such thing. I recognize that all the spells have the same casting time, and damage as 51a but a simple change in the mana pot makes it completely different. In addition on sphere everyone uses the eyes of the truth and injection to see through power words that is why alot of sphere 51a players are not conditioned to seeing power words through animations and detailed as well as scrupulous things like their opponents power word style. Here, because of the .wop, it is impossible to see through power words.

What I'm getting at is, in order for it to be exactly like 51a pvp it needs to be exactly like 51a pvp. A simple mana pot variation screws everything up. A pepperoni pizza isn't a pepperoni pizza without its pepperoni.

I'm not complaining that it isn't exactly like 51a because I do think that 51a pvp does have some flaws. And the battles go on forever. This pvp seems more challenging, you have to actually think about how you are going to use your mana and you need to be quick to react because you wont have the advantage of knowing what your opponent casts.

I think you answered you own question. Tongue

My question was how to identify fake from real and by saying its challenging doesnt answer it. Doh?

I meant it answers why it's changed from being able to show the words with injection.

What Sindern's trying to say is that the .wop command was added so that the utilities you mentioned can't see through fake power words. The pvp here is more challenging and more fun for those who learn it because you have to be prepared for everything. It's more about knowing your opponent and what their style is. It also makes 1v1 duels not last forever because there is more of an element of surprise.
