it´s not the first time that this is happening... i instal the game and the patch. everything ok.. after3 or 4 days i trie to open the game and i just can go until the choice of my character. after that the window of the game minimize and i cant open it again. i'm using win 7 and when i put the mice under the uo icon under i can see that litle window showing the game but cant open it... any ideias? i sure that this is about the recomended client because i have backuped the original client and i can open the game again but without the patched stuff.. (sorry my english) any ideia or suggestion?

Ive had this problem several times as well.
Questions -
-What Client # does it say at the bottom when you launch uo ?
-Are you using razor or injection ? <------ If you are using one of those try opening uo with out them just the client.exe
this will determine if it is uo or a 3rd party tool causing the problem
-Make sure that the Login.cfg is correct
-Are you Playing two shards ? This can sometimes mess things up when switching files back and forth.
-Lastly did you use the IN-Patcher after patching uo ?
When this happened to me it normally takes me 2 rein stall's to get it working.
Depending on your answers it will help determine a problem / fix...

Option 1 (Easy): Alt+Enter twice to full-screen and restore it. Window needs to be selected
Option 2 (Pro): On Win 7, mouse over the UO program in the tool bar, it will pop up to show the little window preview thing. On the window preview, right-click and select "Move." After you do that, press any of the arrow keys and the title bar will be stuck to your mouse pointer and you can move it wherever you'd like.

I'm not quite sure what causes it, but it happens to me as well. Basically the client is loading and the window is opening up, but it opens outside of the actual desktop. I'm thinking it may have something to do with how Razor modifies the game client size, but that doesn't explain why it's moved off screen.
