A possible solution to spam, without compromising it's functional use.

I know. Part of PVP, never going to be changed, this thread is either going to be flamed or ignored. BUT, honestly, spamming looks ugly, annoying, regardless of the gameplay bonuses it gives to PvP. That I don't really care about since I don't PvP.
Anyways, on to the solution. Part one, remove power words alltogether. I know, this will create "silent ganking" situation, so let's move on to part two. Add a message *You see XY casting a spell* every time a power word would be displayed. That way you can have the sneaky spellcasting part of the XUO PvP.

I don't know kite... I mean, if we replace all wop with *You see ___ Casting a spell* You take away some of the rp effect to it. I enjoy seeing the "real" spells being shown. It gives me another visual aid to help with my rp. THe battle filter works well, but it still shows wop. On top of that, using battle filter has its cons as well, such as: having the ability to not read OOLOS messages. Of course the use of battle filter is only encouraged for pvp. I think there should be a region setting for guarded areas.

Region setting for guarded areas.
Remove .wop

This would greatly reduce the spam inside guarded areas, which is only where it is NOT needed. Outisde of guarded areas, you would need it for pvp, well, those that DO use it, need it.

I would happily compromise that part of roleplay in exchange for no more spam.

Why not just add in another command to give you the option of turning WOP off of on and replace it with "you see bob casting a spell"? I think that's a healthy compromise.
