Important for the server. What should be Fixed First

First at all i hope that everyone will read this almost 1 or 2 times.

1º I made this post for trying to help the staff, just for knowing them what are our worries about what should be the first thing that the server needs to be change or a list in order of the preferences things that should be fixed when THEY HAVE TIME.

2º I DONT WANT stupids post complaining about whatever JUST a list with ur preferences about what should be Fixed.

3º If u are going to say stupid things just dont say them, i hope this thread wouldnt be like other stupid posts that they starts very nice but finally all the people start complaining.

4º If the staff thinks that this is a stupid thread just close it inmediately i dont want to spent my time reading for nothing.

5º Look for the best thing now for the server not only for u, if u come from IN just think that this is no IN if u come from Xuo the same. Just think the better thing for INX while it shouldn't be impossible or Shouldnt be Very easy.

Sorry for so much stupid rules but im sure finally someone will said stupid things...

  1. Economy of the server
  2. Relook some Monster Loot (some are bad, special monsters.)
  3. give more info about skills

1. Roleplay Events. ALL I HAVE SEEN ARE TOURNY AND PVP EVENTS. WHAT ABOUT ROLEPLAYING PEOPLE?? make a quest or my idea Island war
you put 2 teams on two island and they have to chop woods, fish and dig for ore.
10000 logs = ship to attack the other island and kill the other team's captain
fish = reagent
iron and stuff = weapon and armor
CRAFTING IS FINE NOW DUDE STOP COMPLAINING!!

1. Economy
2. Adjust SKILLS as they were in Sphere in every aspect. I think an example is that failrates should be fixed (Don´t contemplate possibility of powerscrolls into the RunUO scripts). I don´t know if that is the problem of the high failrate... If not... I think failrate is set too high.

1. Make everything sphere style
2. Make everything else sphere style
3. Make armor and weapons more useful
4. Announce events and tourneys on the forums, not just in game
5. Hold a damn event not just tourneys
6. Fix hiding(to work correctly)! Fix Stealing!! Fix tracking to work like sphere
7. Gold wipe! :p j/k

Those were the only things I could think of but I am sure there are probably more important things.

Erh i have one question
How can you mention economy without saying what is wrong with it ?
Also do rember that the shard is young so the economy ain't running at all, all peopel do right now, is spending all there money on resources so they can go AFK and macro all there skills.

Shadok, the problem with economy is that you can´t earn money crafting items. The fact is that you loose a lot of money training a crafting skill! A little silly, hehe. That´s the main problem.

Then make items other players wanna buy. I know players that makes quite a nice profit without being GM in there craft. I really don't see a problem in that. The house vendors are great for selling what items you can make with your craft skills. Also some skills are perfect for player to player trades. We have a really nice trading forum for that. As said i really can't see the problem in that. Except that peopel wanna be abel to make money standing afk in a guarded town making items to a vendor and wake up x amount og GP's richer.

Need pots or stangs drop me a PM, i got it all.

You've came to the right place. My list of what needs to be done. This is the un[SIZE="6"]official [/SIZE]list of what needs to be done:

1) Fix armor ratings. Plate should be more protective than leather. Someone wearing iron platemail should take about half as much damage as being naked. Someone wearing Adamantium (Or whatever the absolute best) armor should take about half as much damage as wearing iron platemail. Adjust other armor pieces to fit that scale.

2) Fix monster loot. There are some monsters that are much harder to drop than the average joe, but their loots don't follow the proportion. Way too much shit drops ruins. Add in some more Might/Force/Power drops. Vanqs should be rare but findable.

3) Fix weapon damages. Take a look at the speed and damage of each weapon type a little closer to try to get players using a different variety of weaps. It's lame when everyone has the same shit.

4) Fix skill gain. Yeeaaup ya heard. People are going a whole night of macroing, making ~2000 scrolls or daggers or whatever and NOT gaining .1. I'm sorry but that is crossing the line from Rewarding hard work, to unnecessarily spending ****SHITLOADS of time/effort to advance crafts. The craft gain rate should be slow... But it should actually move.

Honestly, Shadok, you have to be blind. Because the statement was made that skill gain should be a bit easier so that they can see some gain, any gain, for the thousands they'd spend and the hours and hours of macroing, doesn't mean everything is fine. Maybe on your end where your transfered skills come into play, or the people you know who make and get all this money.

From crafting for 3 hours I've managed to make about 20k at most from mining and crafting daggers. Great. I've gained .2 in smithy and 15 in mining. They're not exactly proportionate if you ask me.

Want a crafting compromise? Smithy gain is faster, mining skills is dumbed down and the rares that are mined are lessened even more. That'll put some value on higher rated armors and keep the skills more closely related in terms of gains. There's nothing worse than GM mining and only 70 smithy. I mean, come on.

It's like with bowcrafting. All I have to do is log. The items I make and sell are easy to make but they cost a few more resources. It's a fair compromise.

I make more money bowcrafting than I do smithing.

I agree with Shadok. Raising the skill gain rate (a bit) would be one thing, but making it possible to profit afk should not. That destroys an economy.

Why should resource gathering gain equally with crafts? I think it would be fine if those craft rates were made a bit easier, but not much. No need for harvesting skills to be made any easier in my opinion.

Many points other people brought up make a lot of sense. I think the staff know monster loots still need attention, and something isn't quite right with weapon and/or armor ratings.

All in all though i have to say i think the staff have done a good job. There has been a LOT of important stuff to fix, and they've been doing it. There still is a lot, and the players are constantly asking (and too often complaining) for more significant changes. I hope a lot of those changes will be made, but i hope the staff wont burn out from overworking themselves and the players won't burn out from complaining too much before time allows for the changes to actually made.

This is my point of view of what should be fixed in order. I don't want any staff or other player to take it badly. It's just my opinion, and probably it's not the better one, but the more suggestions the better, right? Smile


1- The staff should decide (if they hadn't already) what should be kept from RunUO, and what should be changed. Specially in the interface.
We all know sphere menus sucks a bit, and we ain't got nothing to loose with the RunUO ones.
Ok I understand you want the sphere feeling, but we already got it on other details (player names colors, gameplay, item names, skill functionality, etc).
We all know most of sphere menus are a pain in the ass, and they're not the main thing about the feeling Wink

2 - After deciding the previsou point, finish the sphere "emulation". As we all know some things don't work pretty well like the damage reduction of armors, karma/fame, and some other things.

3 - Review if everything is working smoothly, if players are happy with the shard, if they're having fun, if they find PvP balanced, if they think the RP here is cool, etc etc.

At the same time this things are done there's always time for some events, and bug fixes Smile

But I think this are the main things. Specially the sphere emulation part, because from there, you just have to fix little things. Scripting new things before finishing it may bring some head aches in the future ^^



EDIT: The skill gain is a little weird. I find it a bit slow in some skills like hiding/stealth, and kinda weird in others.. Per example, I'm closer to get GM bowcraft before GM lumberjack, and I've never bought any logs :X
