I installed UO in my laptop, which has windows vista. I fully patched uo and installed the required files. I used the correct server name and port number in razor. After I input my username and password, the screen stays forever saying: "verifying account".... I also read the topic regarding Windows Vista under technical issues posted by GM Pande and I did exactly what it says: Properties, compatibility, check marked "run this program in compatibility mode" : for Windows Xp (I did this on both UO client and Razor properties).

Does anyone know or had have this issue and can instruct me on what to do?

I'm a little unclear from the previous sentence...did you replace the Login.cfg file in your UO folder with the one from IN:X? If not that would cause the problem you're having.

I actually had no errors in running or installing it. From what I've seen it can be a bit varied..but the compatibility mode was the way to solve the problem. Do it to razor and UO.

Vista is crazy with ultima, ask GM pande, he figured it out.

Actually i found that if you install UO and try to run the client without Razor, it usually gets stuck at verifying account. So, try to install razor and run it that way. It might fix the problem. That worked for me on 2 different computers.

I have tried everything so far step by step and the screen is always stuck at "verifying account". Looks like the problem is Windows Vista.
Any final suggestions?

You're not supposed to fully patch the client.. can't believe nobody has noted this yet. Download ML, that's all you'll need.

My client is fully patched and it works fine :eek:

I doubt it's fully patched then. You would freeze as soon as you enter as it also installs UO:KR.:p

Either patch to 5.0.1a (my client) Or 5.0.5a (most of my friends clients)
Those work perfectly fine with anything (if you use easy uo patch till 5.0.5a or easy uo wont work.)
