House Fix
#1

For the few of you who used the patcher recently and ended up getting a corrupted multi.mul file here is a fix to correct the issue.

Download this
Close UO and all UO related programs
Extract the zip file into your UO folder, overwriting the old files

File not ready yet..

Edit: woho, thanks! Big Grin

Edit: ... doesn't work, my houses are still messed out over all the world ^^

Thats the same file I sent you last time! Also its the same exact file I use, fresh out of my UO directory. Try installing it again and make sure anything that could be related to uo is closed and that you are extracting them to the right place. If all else fails, delete the files before extracting the new ones into the UO folder and dont extract somewhere else and then move them.

applied the 2 files, ran the patcher again, which updated statics0.mul and staidx0.mul and it works perfectly now! thanks for being the protector of great looking houses Shade!

Hey Shade, what's that you were saying about my patcher breaking things? I guess today's opposite day.

Well funny story, the patcher read files that were in use and copied them which corrupted them. Then I told you about this and you "fixed" it and it wasn't fixed. So yeah the initial problem was my fault but it being broken for this long is not.

Besides, who are people going to believe.. helpful, lovable, green Shade or evil, secret pker, shard crasher Eru

IIRC, our conversation went something like:

Shade: The multi.mul and multi.idx files are broken. Do you have an old copy you can upload?
Eru: Yes, I'm awesome like that.
Shade: Could you replace the ones I screwed up in Dropbox with your awesome working ones?
Eru: Sure, my boy! I'll do that for you.
Shade: Thanks Eru, you're good at fixing things.

No mention of changing the patcher. Smile I've changed it now though and the multi files won't be patched.

-edit-
Oh, and the files can be copied while they're in use and you'll only have problems if they're being actively changed during the zip process. If that was the case, Syncplicity would never stop. It probably has something to do with using the latest client's multi files and then trying to update the multi files of 6.x.x.x clients.
