I think the staff has done a wonderful job. Hell, this is the most staff activity Ive ever seen on a shard! Back on IN, I would be suprised if a staff member responded within a few hours, if not that day, though I was still understanding that the time they put in is all voluntary. But this staff is consistant about responding within minutes!!
1) Everyone, like Vulcan said, try not to page unless you really need it. Most questions can be easily answered on the forum.
2) Try to be descriptive in your page.
My GF started a few days ago, and when she imported her character, it didn't make her a girl like she was on INR. She paged, and Vulcan was actually there within a few minutes (I actually felt bad because he had to wait for me to come back from AFK for a minute, but he still stayed!). There was something wrong with her character, so he just left the page to see if another GM could help. Because the page was descriptive, the problem was actually fixed later, even after she had logged off.
There are enough ppl that page with "****ing lol" or "bug ****ing sux", hard to help ppl then. I could help a lot of people with in a few mins, if they just described their problem. I can't go to them cause as soon as I go vis, I get attacked with questions:p

Well during the day I know that the pages do get answered quickly, but It's more during the evenings where there are not enough staff members on. I would say that we need atleast 1-2 american/canadian time zone staff members and we'll be fine

It happens sadly. I think every shard I've been on, I always end up getting a foreign gamemaster. It's usually no biggie since their timezones are different, but when I log on at "normal" times, they're usually in their resting/night period.

For the most part I will usually handle pages directed towards rp or other things that are within my control, pages regarding bugs I generally will not answer and leave them for a staff member who will beable to assist you better. As Vulcan has said myself, Taran and Maka are generally doing other things such as fixing bugs or in my case setting up quests and events for you all, do not think we do not care about your pages we simply may have alot going on and are not able to answer them.
It may also help that people be more specific in regards to their pages, You may be surprised at the lack of detail or information we are sent, and also the number of pages we recieve about very very trival things such as game mechanics. In alot of cases we recieve pages that could be answered by simply asking a player, I recieved a page from somebody the other day who I shall keep nameless who sent a page asking how they purchase items from an npc. While we are here to help I also do not want people to have the impression that we will drop everything and spoon feed you also, part of the UO experience is finding out things and learning game mechanics for yourself and pages like this are very unnescessary as this would have been something a player could answer and I can assure you I have recieved alot of other pages very similar to this.

I understand guys, I understand your frustration with people paging you useless info. But what I ment was there arent staff there to answer you at certain timezones, not the information provided by players.
If you feel that players dont make constructive pages than just make a seperate post with that topic, maybe a sticky thats just for one week, and tell people how pages which arent detailed and have no meaning behind it wont be answered.
you can also add it under rules.

Vulcan Wrote:I do my best to answer pages as quickly as possible. Half the time I am answering pages I forget to click the button saying I'm handling it and someone else will show up to answer the same page as well. This to me says we have enough staff on at most times.
Personally I think there are enough European staff at the moment. Another American staff member couldn't hurt but I don't know if it is necessary.
The reason you see the same people answering pages Silverwolf is because staff have other responsibilities than answering pages. You may never see Taran or Maka but they do the most work I assure you.
Other people have other responsibilities like reading RP stories and doing decorations and such things.
The only time I delay in answering a page is if someone says "GM please come!!!!!!"
In those cases I answer pages from people who took the time to express why they need a staff member because I don't know how long the undescriptive pages will take me to answer.
In addition half the pages from people are questions that have answers easily accessible on the forum or that can be answered by any player in britannia. People need to be more selective about what they page about so that we can answer people's pages that actually require GM assistance rather than pages like "How do I get out of covetous?" or "What's the recipe for a keg?"
Before you page please ask yourself whether a player on the forum could help you. If not then by all means page, but you guys need to seriously try a little harder to help yourself sometimes before asking for us.
On a final note, when you page and it says there are "X" amount of pages in the queue. This really isn't very informative information. Pages don't always get answered in order because people will page for a specific staff member. In that case we leave those pages for that staff member to answer. People paging for Taran or Maka or Azrael generally will have to wait a much longer time because they are busy with other stuff. In addition if someone logs out after paging we don't delete the page so it remains in the queue until they log back in. We leave those pages and answer the others so if you page and you are 5th in the queue, you may be the only person whose page I can really answer and I'll be at your side very soon. In short the queue length doesn't ever indicate that we are super busy and stretched thin.
I don't know you that well, but i wanna give you respect cuz i see you always helping people and doing your best to make the shard a better environment so ... ye.. just thought i'd let you know i think that..

Don't make it forums based then. Make it on the main page under something easily eye-catching. "Read this before you play or page." Ya know.
