I believe that due to the difficult associated with mining that those few whom happen to GM should receive a special pickaxe. The reason i say this is because miners has to work 10x harder since they cant afk macro it due to the gump and the harder skill gain which i believe warrants it to be view was a more difficult skill to achieve. The same could be said for lumberjacking. On other shards i've played you could GM mining in a few days, I know guys who have mined every day for a week for like 10 hours a day and still arent GM yet. I just think it could use some consideration and recognition. Any objections?

You're right. I apologize. I am sure you get a pickaxe. I don't remember correctly if IN1 had pickaxes as a reward. BUt then again, the reward would be daemon steel and sapphire. That was a good enough reward for me.

This used to happen back on IN1 for like the first month but then was canned, resource gathering skills wont get a reward. Not to say its a bad idea, i think your right about it being hard... and iw ould love a special pick axe... but as it is i recon we have enough rewards
EDIT: oki i thought id better explain a bit better.
Mining, Lumberjacking and fishing arent expensive and all that intensive skills to train. Initial startup costs to train any of these skills is at bax 50gp.. a pick axe/axe/fishing rod. So technically your getting a special item for time. Where as with skills like smithy, carp and taming etc, Smithy requires ALOT of iron and is rather expensive, carp again like smithy but with logs... and taming... well its just BS hard
Really its the amount you spend to GM that skill is the value of that special item you get.
Mining/Lumberjack/Fishing - Cost Nothing
Smithy/Carp/Alchemy etx - Cost Alot

Yeh but the difference is the with crafting skill u just need to get the materials, then if u load an awesome script you can do it afk and come back hours later and get a reward. Mining and resource gathering skills should be rewarded because they actually have to remain at the computer and gain GM status slowly. Your getting rewarded for the actual time at your computer training even if it is with a macro

I agree with Kalanor again... gming alchemy and bs its way more expensive, we know that... but you can do all that shit when you are afkk!! you can be like in a party or w/e and you still are gming that skill... but by the other hand, gming mining is not that easy... yeah i know there are auto mining scripts, but still you have to be in the computer or at least near to it cause of the gump... So the effort that you need to gm mining worths equal than the money used to gm alch/blacks.

You can train any skills afk... the fact is with smithy its time+money vs just time.
And in comparison to some skills mining isnt hard... just wait till you start training alchemy and tamming
