Well...Its soooo slow since we cant even macro it when were afk, and when we separate ore we dont even gain from smelting it all. So tehres an idea, put that trick back, or make us able to macro it :< its sooooooooo slow

If you're talking about the skill, it won't be changed. It's a little harder than most places maybe, but not too much harder. You can macro it, just not afk.

It is possible to gain skill from smelting ore.

I've tried to smelt ores 1 by 1 and I don't see the skill raising. Smelt like 200 ores and nothing....

Smelting one by one does not work. It only works in cluster form. Mining is not that hard. Hell, all the iron you mine you can either sell, use for blacksmith, or make hunting armor out of. There are all types of possibilities.

The skill gain is correct. It should not be changed. Mining is a huge economic booster. If it were to get out of hand, this shard would go from first place to last.

i enjoy mining how it is... its harder which makes it so the market doesnt get flooded by heaps and heaps of rares

I wish a staff member would comment on the inability to gain when smelting ores individually. Many people have verified that you can gain when smelting them in a big stack.

It seems it depends on

1. How many ores you have in your pile
2. How high your mining is
3. How difficult the ores are to smelt

My guess is that if something is too easy for you to smelt then you won't gain anything.

the higher your mining, the harder it is to get iron. I say keep it slow!

The whole idea with the skill gain was to make it repetition based (Sphere). Number 1 and 3 aren't supposed to make a difference.
