Crafting skills should be hard to train. That makes people more dependant on eachother, some will be GM blacksmithing, some GM inscription and so on. Makes room for trading and interaction between players.
Not to say skillgain won't be tweaked again, but I doubt I will make any drastic changes. Everyone who thinks skillgain is too slow should tell me what skill they are training, what % they are at, how they are training the skill and how long it has taken to gain a certain amount.
Ask and you shall receive, sir. Just macroed all night again. A little over 10 hours. Here are the results:
Wrestling: 12.5 @ 74.5
1.3%/hr
Parrying (Until TEN of my shields broke) 3.2 @ 73.0
0.3%/hr
Tactics 3.2 @ 79.2
0.3%/hr
Healing 2.2 74.0
0.2%/hr
Compare this to last nights data:
Swords +9.9% (95.6) [.8%/hr]
Anat +9.0% (94.9) [.75%/hr]
Tactics +6.1% (74.1) [.5%/hr]
Healing +2.8 (70.3) [.2%/hr]
Parrying +2.4 (67.7) [.2%/hr]
I think it's safe to come to the conclusion that skills like Healing and Parrying and probably tactics are goig up too slow. If archery and magery are set at the same speed for healing, they are WAY too slow as well IMO.
I've literally spent the whole time on the shard macroing combats, and I don't have much to show for it. I GMed swords after approximately 75 hours of macroing. This is far from the '24-36 hr to GM a combat' figure. If you are looking to achieve that amount of time to GM a combat skill, you need to increase the rate of skill gain. I'm not even 60% of the way to GMing healing and I've put in about 75 hours of pure macroing.
I understand why you want to crafts to be a slow gain, but why do you think it is necessary to macro for excruciatingly long amounts of time before we can pvp?
I encourage anyone who reads this thread to post data of your skill gains after a large sample (>6 hours). Please post things such as magery, archery and healing, as those are very important pvp skills and the gains are silly slow. I'm not pulling these stat gains and hourly gain rates out of my ass.
