So ppl who played XUO2(?) and what other shard got the chance to move their chars...

*Sigh*

It's really not that hard to understand, people.

1) If everyone ELSE started from scratch, how would that affect YOU? It would not affect you AT ALL. So, are you just whining just to be whining?

2) Why are you comlaining about skills? Get a cheap shield and some cheap armor, a cleaver, and a friend. I am estimating you are only playing for about 3 hours a day. That leaves you 21 hours to macro ALL YOU WANT. You could have all the melee skills GMed in a few days, and after a single day you'd probably still have more of a single combat skill than I do. Go spend 15 minutes picking cotton, turn it into bandages, and macro healing all night either with a friend, or go find some lone monster out in the woods.

You really sound like a little kid who sees his brother come in the room with a cookie, and starts crying since you didn't get one. Really, of course, all you have to do is think about it for a second, and do a little bit more work, you could go get the stool from the garage and get it yourself. Just in case that was too deep, I am saying that for the tiny amount of effort it would take to set up some macros and get the few supplies needed to get some basic PVP skills, you are really whining over nothing.

+1 Nauric.

If I sound like I am getting annoyed and impatient with this, it's because I am. I didn't agree with the transfers either, but I actually had legitimate reasons, which were concerned with the SHARD, and not with MYSELF. Although, it does sound like my concerns that those who do get everything they want will get bored quickly, and those who want everything they can get will get bored quickly, are still very realistic. Your complaints are based on issues that are completely imaginary.

The basic purpose of UO is PvP. It's the true reason most will play here, MOST, not all.

I've picked up a damned pick axe and I've mined for quite a few hours. All of these posts refer to the fact that the starting off was unbalanced a bit and could use some tweaking. I've yet to see anyone ask for anything more than some more gold, or a cheaper price on reagents so the poorer class of characters currently can achieve their goals of:

grabbing bandages, a cleaver, friend, area without getting killed or guard whacked, or getting there without the ability to recall or return if their character were to die.

It's not so cut and dry as everyone makes it. From waiting so long, people tend to acquire other things, such a job, school, wife, girlfriend, kid, and so on which affect the amount of time they can dedicate, no matter how bad or little they want to. Things shouldn't be changed because of that, however.

I think things would have been even if crafts weren't transferred because believe it or not, that will make a bit of a monopoly.

Nauric Wrote:I fail to see your "big" problem here, okay fine you work 12 hours a day and want to do something fun when you come home, well why dont you spar with a friend when your at work when you come home you got a decent combat skill, then go kill some monsters like 4 people and you should be able to take out some decent monsters ( thats fun ? ) and macro again while you sleep / work.. really not that hard to get skills, true some start with more than others, but isnt it fair that a INner that used like 4years on that char get a few % moved ? it isnt like we get 100% skill transfer Rolleyes
But yeah as it was said above, it aint no carebear shard UO was ment like you had to work alittle to get what you wanted and i truely hope it stays that way..

Did you start with your old skills? If so, make a new character and macro without any friends or outside help. Macroing .1 is a big difference from macroing 0.1 or 50.01 to 100.0 when you speak of alchemy or smithy.

People keep using "this ain't no carebear shard" excuse. Grow up. Set everyone to zero then let's go at it if you want to be a "man" about it. No one wants free shit, they just want a better chance to end your little mining session or so called newbie gank squad.

Not everyone has the luxury of using a computer at work, or having it on all the time. You can't berate him for wanting a hobby but having to provide for himself and/or family. Then again, most of you are probably too young to even know about it.

And I think I should take the time to mention here, the reason I'm speaking like this is not for my personal gain, but for the others. Consider it more of an advocate showing his care. My system for macroing is doing me plenty well and I've no complaints for myself, just trying to help others push out their reasoning, which I happen to see is a good one.

If i would to start all over from scratch i would still do that.
Heck it would be the fourth time i would do that.
Starteted on IN1
Started over again on IN2
Started all over again on IN:R
I could start all over again on IN:X if i had to. dunno if other peopel would do it, but hey because old players from IN:R and XUO got there chars transfered we now have a great player base. I really fail to see the problem in that, would you rather have a shity player base and let evryone start all over or have it, the way it is now ?

Need pots or stangs drop me a PM, i got it all.

Read this post too.

I think that the problem is the Skill gain...If u can get some gm skills in a week it will be good...

But i have been macoing 2 days for 89.00 in stelath skill...I think that is incredible.

You guys act like you are the only ones to ever have made a new character before. I started a brand new character on IN1, INR, Shatteredlands, and a few other shards. I had a blast doing it every time. I would have done it here too, but I aleady had my character (who only had a few weeks on him with little macroing... my highest skill is still Hiding at 83), so I figured "why not?"

It is very much NOT true that the *only* reason people play is for PvP. PvP is very fun, but having m4x skyllz is not the only way to PvP. Hell, on INR, most people were PVPing without any GM skills at all. We were all runnng around with 50 and 60 magery trying to lightening and energy bolt eachother to death, missing axe swings all day, and constantly failing easy bandage heals. It was still lots of fun.

Sorry to say, but this really is nothing more than whining. What skills other people have have no effect on you whatsoever. You would have to start from the same place regardless. I guess it just hurts your feelings when other people get things that you don't get? That's life. That's the game. Tough.

It doesn't hurt anyone's feelings because it's a video game and doesn't encompass much of life. From what I can tell this is a new shard and the only incentive people had to play here was to transfer their character that they worked sooooooooooo hard for. Give it up. Most of us have played OSI and servers that used non-repetition based skill gain.

The point is most here, are actually going to be doing a LOT of PVP. I know of at least 40 and we both know that number is higher.

I hate to tell you, but IN:R wasn't the only shard with a monopoly on some of those traits and IN-X happens to have a faster skill gain from what I've experienced at both shards, so it actually wouldn't be THAT hard on people to re-macro everything again.

Those skills do have an affect. Quite frankly, the market will be presented with higher level goods, fairly soon. It's not like we can't kill you all and take them away, but it does pose a bit of unfairness when you can come into the shard with a GM level craft.

You worked so hard on it before? Tough shit. That's what you say to them, that's what they say to you.

I don't quite care about skills, as I've said before, I have a system of what to macro and when that works. Money's not an issue. I'm speaking for the large amount of people who don't post, but have offered to profess their ideas to me. The general consensus is that it's a bit too hard and they'd just like a bit more money.

And to add..nah I'll leave it for another post.
