Id really like to see new houses introduced at some point. The ones that are standard are pretty boring by now so i think it would be really nice to see some new ones introduced.

Im not too sure about custom housing because they tend to look stupid. Only a handfull will actually want to make them look nice.

I dont know how hard it is to make new house types but it must be doable because i helped a friend on his shard and he had new types on that.

Who is with me on this one?

But what about all the empty lots everywhere?
And from what i know custom houses have a different security system so you cant loot those houses.

New house types will be in, just not customs (for now). If the majority at some point decides that they want customs then they will be implemented, with standard old school housing rules.

On sphere, anyone can enter your house if the door is open. Only locked down items are secure.

New system, you can block everyone from entering. Makes house looting impossible and even empty lots cant be looted cause you cant step onto it. Its far more complicated and annoying.

We had the new house styles and custom houses enabled. I think i fixed most "AoS" safety features, but you could still lock containers and item in containers down.

I was thinking. One thing that makes people not want custom housing is the stupidity of the design on some (also some just being empty lots. What if we did something along the lines of a housing approval process or something?.

Like a player has to submit a photo of the house they want to build, get approval from the gm. They may then buy the housing making tool from a GM at a fixed price and proceed to build teir house. Once the house is build (and I dont know if this can be done), the house can be made static and no longer edited.

Might mix things up, but dont know if a gm will have time for that, might need to have GM The Architect come along or something

I really like that idea, but to be implemented later. I really really like the idea. We could make it so that a player could build the house freely, but to actually place it, he would need a GM to accept the house To make sure that it's not just empty plots, we could make the player build the "deed" (even though that might be hard).
