+1 good idea
Bruce Wrote:All well and good but WHAT do you think should be given as a 'vet reward'?
Loki Wrote:As long as they are standardised (i.e. all the same for every player after same period of time) I wouldn't mind giving out:
- Rare mount only available via vet reward scheme (e.g. sapphire hued llama, or so on, can be more than one, but it would only be a normal mount, not ethy, no special stats, not bonded etc.)
- Does anyone remember the tunics with 4 quarters to them? I forget the name, they're in the game somewhere, may have been called fancy vest, something like that. Can't current be found anywhere, could add them as a vet reward.
- Other non-functional or at least non-mechanically functional, and non-trade-able in all cases, gizmos (the more interesting ones would take longer) such as:
* Animal dye (one use only)
* Name change deed
* Fame cap increase (such that you may die once and still remain Lord)
* Spell animation hue dye (either temporary and/or one use only)
* Some special deco items (e.g. some of the non-craftable alchemist bottles, brains/entrails, skeleton chained to wall, etc.)
* Pet zombie
* Boat dye
* Newbied named/dyed weapon (with damage set to 1 and non-poisonable, i.e. decorative only) - Would have to make sure this one can't be abused for training purposes either.
That's more than enough ideas, and some are probably not that appropriate because it's late and I'm tired and going to bed rather than thinking things through any further.
Also the usual disclaimer, just a GM, etc. etc., I promise nothing
Bruce Wrote:- Cosmetics (Robes/Shrouds/Capes/Sandals/etc) - Don't we have enough of this already with the nickel\silver stones? Maybe something like cloak\robe\sash that says its a vet reward?
- Special Dye Tubs - same as above.
- Bank Checks - Free money? Realllyyyyy?
- Special colored ingots/boards/etc - Again this would damage ingot market
- Silver - Maybe
- Ethereal Mounts - Would damage taming market.... badly...
- Furniture - This i don't mind. Statues and the like.
Really we cant give away anything that gives someone an advantage or would damage the economy.
JoanOfArc Wrote:Yeah, I'm kind of new to the shard so I don't know all of the items available yet, but also a custom title (requiring a LOT of time) could be nice, just something that will make it worth the wait... not like the UO vet rewards with crappy statues and lame robes.
Maybe even:
- Free statics, or deco
In any way, even if its a mere dye tub it gives the advantage already, if no one else has that hue, I can sell the clothes aye?
Just giving some ideas, one of them will hopefully stick
Bruce Wrote:Maybe a custom throne that shoots out fireworks when you sit on it?
That would be awesome!! =P
