I'd like to see 1k stone gone too. Seriously if you want to practice PvP nothing stops you from calling a friend and dueling outside the pits, right beside the house for example.
Not to mention that we have tons of autosupplied tournaments where you can practice PvP for free.
So, I think if you want to fight vs people you don't know and you don't want to risk losing your gear by dueling in the world, then you should risk losing more than 1000gp, and pay more than 100gp as a fee for fighting in safety.

IMO there is no harm that Smoke wants to make money in duel stones. Since it's also a PvP server, it would be good if people could earn money only by fighting vs players and not having to hunt if they've succeeded in it.

Removing the 1k stone isn't a problem but I would like to wait until the playerbase increases a bit before we change it. As it stands now, it is a good way to practice with people who aren't trustworthy enough to help them outside a controlled environment.

The real problem is players don't want to lose anything though. Too many games these days spoil their players and those players are used to that when they come here.

Either way, around the time of the launch we will try removing 1k duels for a time and see how it plays out. If dueling picks up or doesn't change, we will leave it like that but if there are less people using the stones we may change it back.

Trying to think of a way to add a chessboard without ruining the real-world feel of the barracks. Maybe a portal to a couple chessboards?

well to be honest the pits board was the best cuz you could still converse with ppl in pits at the same time, it's not like u were seperated from the rest of the ppl cuz u was gunna go play chess.

As you know some games can take long, seeing ppl in pits and talking to them is a good distraction, I know I can't just focus on the game 24/7 otherwise it gets boring lol (the long games).

why don't u just extend the barracks on the SW side and add a board like there was last time it'd just be another zone but still protected.

I mean it'd be useful for newcomers to the system to have a way to practice outside of tourneys, which aren't up often enough, and auto-supplied duels, which need to just die.

It's be nice to have a cheap duel stone for them to practice on, but force the people with the higher ratings to use 5K+ stones. If people really want to make a new character and macro it just to have a low-rating character for the 1K stones, then that's fine with me since they'll just be consuming resources to make a 2nd character, which is also good for the economy.

Well, I think rather than get rid of the 1k stone make it cheaper. New players and players such as myself that dont have a ton of cash but would like to duel, enjoy the 1k stone. Besides its not hurting anything, its not like its attached to the ladder. I think rather than get rid of the stone make it cheaper then to make Tech happy just add a stone for 500k. Everyones happy Also, if I want to duel Gang or Tech but there is no 1k stone and I am forced to pay 5k or more, then not only am I going to die in 3 seconds I am also going to loose 5k or more gold.
