Use the Sound WITHIN!
Sound, what a beautiful thing, actually, you can't see sound, so hmm you can't really know if it's beautiful. Anyways... Sound, is probably the 2nd most important thing in PvP. Actually, it is the 2nd most important thing in PvP.
If you have no sound, well hmmm... i dunno go beat your uncle or something, Do NOT waste your time on this game, unless you love Mining so much.
Sound determines the winner of a duel, because if you do not have sound, you will NEVER know what your opponent is doing [aids, potions, XUO Flamestrike]. Here's my little secret in improving your hearing capabilities, run around Britain and just try to KNOW what animals are making the noises. Helps you a lot.

lol, sure sound do help, but i have won plenty of fights without sound, it helps alot cause u know when they drink but and somthimes if they aid isntead of healspell when you fs so u know not to tab it, not that often tough.. and if you listen after the hit sound when someone targets a xuo fs and starts a heal i wil have plenty of fun using light scrolls on you since they make the same sound =). the only way to know if they target a xuo fs? hmmmpf i tought u did loose 24hp aswell..

there are plenty of more things in your guide i can comment on, (yes i have read it by now). but i know u mostly made it for fun so i wont bother. Big Grin

Yes I did make it for fun, but here I will explain everything in a couple of words, for the people who didn't get it :p

#1
Be comfortable, make your macros in a way you like them and not others.

#2
Sound is NEEDED if playing versus good people. Sure sometimes when your playing against Odium or stuff, you won't require sound, but it is needed if your playing against a good person like me Big Grin

#3
Do not rely on bandages TOO OFTEN.

#4
You need these skills before PvPing : Anatomy, Healing, Magery, Tactics + Fighting Combats skill! + Meditation + Evaluating Intelligence + some more I'm forgetting :p
You need these skills to craft the items TO PvP : Alchemy + Inscription
You need these skills to help ENSURE victories : Blacksmithing + Mining = good armor..

#5
Timing is not one of the important things to master at first, since it only comes with experience.
A good way to practice timing, after you've mastered all the other elements ( when to FS, when to aid, when to Heal, when to run, how to run, etc ) is to try spells on yourself.

#6
When your in a tournament, you will have to do many things at once ( observe HP / mana, observe spam of other guy, observe how the other guy is running, blah blah ) so chewing gum has scientifically proven to help people do many things at once ( or to multi-action ). So yeh, that's a lil tip :p

#7
There is no such thing as a PvP style, Nox pvps like Nox, I pvp like myself, Silverwolf ( the best PvPer in the world ) PvPs like Silverwolf. That's just the way it is. Creating your style is the difficult part.

#8
Observing tournaments, is not ALWAYS a good thing, because well, unless your more experienced, you won't see the BIG mistakes that people are doing and you MIGHT get the habit of doing them. You will never Be as good as someone, you can only be more DIFFERENT. That's how PvP is. the people who vary their way of play and their finishing strikes always manage to win.
When observing a duel though, always try to observe how people FINISH their duels. Nox = drains mana, I = Lightning Spam , Maka = Magic reflection ( when he used to duel naked ), hmm blah blah. Discovering the Finishing Strike of someone, is like beating him, since all you have to do is well, Actually here an EXAMPLE :

Rascul vs Jimbo.
Rascul loves to FS all the time.
So, to win, Jimbo, will try to keep his HP at a low level, to then Magic Reflect scroll, because he knows that Rascul loves to FS.

Another example :
Dramatic vs I.
The way dramatic plays is this. He heals. All the time, so that you get frustrated. It is almost impossible to KILL dramatic, the only way you can kill him is if you wait for his MASSIVE dump, and FS him back.
His tactic is to try to get you to DUMP like crazy, cause he's good at healing and then he FSes you, and you got like 5HP but he still XUO's you know? Yeh.
He's a defensive piece of monkey, MY defensive piece of monkey. I love him, but anyways. You just gotta figure out how people PLAY and you win :p.

Afraz I know that you are only trying to help.. but If you read my whole guide you will see that.. well.. I have also explained everything that you mentioned only in a lot more detail, involving time and numbers.. I appreciate the fact that you took the time to also explain your views but it ticks me off that you mock me and mock my guide when we both know that I spent a lot of time acquiring all the details such as mana, timings, damage, speed, success rates and writing it so that any new comer to XUO's PvP would understand the basic mathematics and procedures behind our PvP. Yes, PvP does come with time and experience, but the basics CAN be tought and understood. Don't come and say that my guide is useless, I like to believe that my guide is not useless and that people have, and will benefit from it.

I'm sorry if i am getting a little bit emotional but i HATE it when people make a mockery out of my work.

MoustaxeOfVanquishin Wrote:Your guide is ugly..
Quote from YOUR guide : A bandage is the easiest and most common way of healing moderate amounts of health in a duel. It can also be used to resurrect someone assuming that you have GM anatomy and healing of course. In a duel, using a bandage under 75hp can be risky because if it failed or heals low amounts while someone is casting on the offense, you could be screwed :]. It’s not so often that it fails though, so, if you are feeling lucky, go ahead.

How does that help someone? omfg owned? JESUS CHRIST. owned?

War Axe(mace fighting): A good one-handed weapon. Used with a shield, it can be pretty useful in battle. It is moderately paced, and deals moderate-high damage.

are you joking? No really. a WAR AXE? wtf?

what's wrong with that? War Axe's are really strong on sphere. They were used a lot on Novus Opiate, CF, XUO(tus). IN:X is going to be a full sphere replica is it not? I just listed down all the weapons that might be useful. Some people like one handed weapons. I'm starting to believe that your lack of experience is really making you look stupid.

Nothing wrong with my bandage description either.

I wouldn't worry about it Nox, you did a fine job. I don't like it either when people knock somebody else's good word just to make theres look better.

MoustaxeOfVanquishin Wrote:Wow, the PvP guide was a very big dissapointment...

nox's guide kicks the shit out of your guide...and i dont even plan on pvping here.

i felt my IQ drop after i read your bit on bandages.

Nox, your "guide" isn't really a guide, but more of a DESCRIPTION of the PvP items.. Scrolls / weapons. It doesn't HELP people with PvP, just gives them a description of what they should use.
Your description of the bandages, well, kind of isn't proper," if your feeling lucky go ahead" :$:$
Nox, I was kidding bout the Ugly and stuff, since your funny and kill me all the time with your defensiveness !!!
Anyways, my PvP GUIDE, is not a description of the items, but more of TIPS on what to KNOW before PvPing, and that is what you should have as a guide, not something that TELLS you what to do..
Maka's tips well, aren't very good, cause then PvP will become more MACRO based, which it isn't...
I <3 you Nox, and Ztoke, even though you PKed me all the time at Xtreme Elementals.
But your "guide" isn't really a "guide". It's more of a description of the items used during PvP ( i've said this like what 7 times? ).
And hmm War Axes, let's just say mhm their special weapons Rolleyes

If you maybe added the SWING time between each weapon, it would be really nice !
#22

Kind of to tell the truth, Nox, I was kind of expecting more out of you :p
That is the TRUE reason I made my guide. Anyways...
I hope you guys liked my guide, it owns !!
Mwahaha.
PvP can't be teached and that will never change.
If you are a new PvPer and you plan on being great. Well hmmm
This is what you should do,
get 1000k, make 20k each scrolls + 2k each potion,
Get a friend who you TRUST and that's GOOD in PvP.
and hmm DUEL him, over and over and over and over and over and over
over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over over and over and over and over and over and over,
and make sure he TELLS you what you do wrong.
