I do enjoy staffing or I wouldn't do it, and I want to improve the server so it is more fun for everyone, including my friends and myself. So, I'm not some self sacrificing unselfish super hero, and I don't expect to get respect just because I'm staff. But, having said that, it would be nice if we got less whining and abuse at events. You don't have to be grateful, or tell us we're great, or anything like that (in fact in my case I prefer you don't, it makes me feel awkward) but I would like it if I didn't have to argue or get accused of favouritism/whatever at events. What he said :p
In fact on the topic of favouritism (something that gets whined about a lot) most the staff barely even play on their player accounts, take very little part in interacting with other players when they do, and use of GM knowledge, powers or anything else that could be seen as a benefit due only to staffing is strictly forbidden. If I suspected anything otherwise I'd either bust the person in question's balls (although I am only a lowly GM ) or I'd quit staff immediately. Those who know me know that I was strictly in opposition to staff/admin-related cheating on IN2 and my friends know that I do literally nothing to help them with my staff knowledge or powers.
Like I said, I don't particularly want respect, or sucking up, I'm just a player, but it is depressing to get whined at and accused of cheating all the time when there's no basis for it at all.
