Archery Changes
#14

Loki Wrote:In a tiny box I think it will be very tough to make archery better than using a halberd or such. However, it would be good to make it useful in other situations.

I would, however, point out that arrows and bolts generally penetrate plate armour better than they do through hardened leather or chain.

I suppose that makes sense since plate has holes in it whereas chain would block at least a portion of all arrow shots. Except to the face! Anyway that part about different armors is too complicated of a change anyway. I think Siren's ideas are a little more plausible. Ill have to try to kill someone naked with a bow right now and see how effective it is Smile.

Is it true that right now Dex > 100 gives no benefit? That would be an easy place to give archery some bonus. Maybe dex > 100 gives more archery damage AND speed? Or one or the other perhaps. I appreciate the staff's interest in the suggestions that are placed here. I think we have a ways to go before it's perfect here, but it will be fun to see it happen.
