So you knew there was a flaw. You had previously exploited the flaw. You continued to exploit the flaw because the staff did not change it. Today you wanted to be helpful and "test" it again. Instead of seeing if you were able to cause a little damage you went ahead and killed them. Now you think the jail time isn't justified because the staff didn't listen to you when you initially reported the issue? That makes perfect sense.

If staff listened to player's instead of thinking they've fixed the problem we wouldn't be in this position to begin with. They said they fixed the bug haven't tried it since they apparently fixed it and they didn't so whose fault is that? So yes it honestly was a "test" and it worked. It's not like we abuse it daily it was a one time thing because of poor listening skills and not being acknowledged.
