You cant really consider any ingots useless. An exceptional plate set of old copper has 40 AR which is only 1 less than a normal set of aqua/fire.
Personally ive used everything up to and including amethyst for training smithy. But that does not mean that they are worth only 10 gp each. When crafted into armor sets they can yield a fine amount of AR which is what the price should be set around.
Generally you can start the higher ingots with blood rock at 50 gp each. Fire/aqua 100 gp. Myth 200....
Sapphire sells for 4-5k each depending on who is buying.
Yes some people set lower prices but they are just ruining the prices as getting high end ingots takes ages and should pay off fairly well when trading.
