Er, I was supposed to have made that page. Gathering all the information is a pain though, especially for the random-colored ones. Bascially though, there are rare mounts hidden around the world that take high taming skill, then there are normal mounts/animals everywhere that you can also tame for skillups. The best be though is to find the rare ones, then afk-tame them for as long as it takes to tame them.

Wind Courtyard

There are also a lot of hard-to-tame monsters that most people completely ignore when getting started, but they're an awesome way to get up to mid 80s quickly.
