The more I think about it, the more I start to agree with it. Since you can just get to 10K fame and buy another, the only real cost of your mistake is 200k. It's a big mistake, but I've seen people lose much more than that at once.

I don't think it should be free to swap though or people could just trade the shields around as long as they had the fame. I think that to make the swap, the new owner should have to have the 10K fame and pay a switching fee of say, 50K. They saved a lot, but the cost is enough that we won't get a ton of pages about it.
