but what happens when i've tamed it then? or do i have to stand away from the horse so i cannot be tamed? like the error 'to far away for that' ?

When you've tamed it, it will give you a message saying it's tame already and will skip to the next animal. The reason it works is because it's spamming targets and taming so much that it has to hit an untamed one. There's usually not much delay unless you have like 10-20 of them and all but one are tamed.

Also, the "too far away" bug has been fixed on RunUO. No more GMing taming off of one horse overnight.
