Well the original idea was to allow for easy organization of seeds but still limiting the amount a player has by making it slightly inconvenient to have over the max amount a container holds. Of course people go to seedbox 2, 3, 4, 5, etc but I'd still like to think it makes people think, do I really need 62536 seeds?
Currently though seed boxes technically delete the seed and simply store the seedtype information and (re)create the seed when you "take it" from the box. So a few seedboxes, no matter how many seeds are in them, don't really hurt the item count.
The only reason I had set it to that number was I figured that was enough to cover every plant type for someone who just wants them for the sake of collecting but it would require plant farmers to need more boxes. That way it wouldn't be a one shot item that holds all seeds forever and make it an actual craft item that people would be willing to buy more then one of.
Of course its possible that this could change but I really hate to see people only need 1 of any item, even if its just a seed box.
