Thinking about having a text-based tattoo?
#1

I'm planing to get another tattoo soon, and as I tend to aim towards meaning more then esthetics's, I tend to pick text based ones.

To get that little bit of beauty in your text tattoo you need to pick a good font, and this can be a hassle. I didn't feel like browsing thousand and thousand of fonts on-line, clicking a million times to see the font preview, then repeating to get to another font. I then wrote a little program that pretty much did this for me, then saved the image on my computer. Idea is that I'll write a little slide show program, where you can "quick tag" tattoos as you go along, so that you later can have a better look at the once you liked at first glances.

Everyone with a little bit of programming knowledge, in almost any language, can do this in a few hours. What I'm wondering is if it would be interesting to other people. If so, I can spend a bit longer on the user interface, and make it a bit more customizable, then release it.

Features so far is scanning all the fonts on http://www.1001freefonts.com/ and generating an image with the text of your choice. Reason to why I picked that web page is cause that was the first one I found, and I thought it was easy enough coding against their "custom preview text" feature. The slide show app is yet to be made.

If no one answers I'll assume that there is no interest in the app and keep functionality hard codedBig Grin
