Yes provocation is necessary for effective hunting. It's pretty slow, though. Discord gains slow as well. Hell, every skill here gains slow I wouldn't be opposed to a tweak of skill gains for non-craft skills, I feel more people would be macroing up chars that way.

edit: to stay on topic of provocation, my vote is that provo gets a little %success increase

aggreeed it is very important for hunting and the sucess rate on provoce should be increased or the skill gain should be easier
