Hate Wrote:At nr.1 I agree with you on most things. I think that the shard should not be boring for newcomers as well. I don't think mining a lot is fun. I can see why people would quit if all they can do is to mine all day long for cash to macro. I mean both macroing and mining sucks really, so that combination would probably make a lot of people quit. What might keep a few is:
1. They get a skill transfer from an old shard.
2. They love mining or macroing.
3. They look forward and know that what's ahead is fun, but most newcomers wont know that so that may cause them to quit.
On thisone I don't agree with you much at all. Making a limit of 5 scrolls of each in the autosupply gear would just make people fight REAL SLOW and wait for HOURS for the right moment to attack, because if they waste their supplies they're pretty much ****ed, as you said. Is PvPing for hours in every duel fun? I'd say no. What we CAN do is make an limit of how many supplies u have in autosupply pads, plus not use them so often. That would help as well. But the supply limit would have to be A LOT bigger than 5 scrolls and pots of each, trust me, if we give them too few supplies then it will not speed fights up and make it more fun, it will slow it down and make it SO very boring. Trust me, we've tried that at XUO.
Once again I do not agree with you. I know that you're trying to help but sometimes it just goes all wrong. Why? Because you do not play enough to know enough about the PvP to try and change it =/ The things you suggest do not actually speed it up, it slows it down =/
Removing WoP would cause players to know exactly when to heal, when to flamestrike, instead of having "hidden attacks" that is way harder to survive. This would result in slow boring duels where everybody knows exactly what to do at all points, and the only way to die (unless u mess up completely) is to run out of mana so you CAN'T heal, or if you would **** up by for example flamestriking 3-4 times with a XUO scroll and have taken your potion, so you have like 25 hp left and the other guy flamestrikes back at you before you get to hit your greater heal spell button.
"Changing" the spam to say so razor can see through it would not result in anything good. People would know what others are casting, but the spam would lag them down and just be annoying. Why are you against wop but not spam? spam is way more "negative" than wop in my eyes. Sure the wop spam is "needed", but an completely useless spam would just be exactly that - useless. =/
Anyways, like I said above, I know you're trying to help but since you use most of your time to macro and work on your mining skills you really haven't had the oportunity to pvp enough to be able to judge that part enough to try and change it. =/
Anyways thanks for trying to help, we appreciate it, and we know that the players base has been dropping, and we will do what we can to fix that. Like I said, your nr 1 suggestion was good, and that could very well be what is causing players to leave.
The PvP could also cause players to leave, but that is (in my eyes) just because they do not know how to use it properly, or because they see spam and think "ok this shard is just all about spam and no skill, I quit!". If they had some good pvper teaching them how to have fun with this pvp they probably wouldn't quit because of that. At least I don't think so. Sure some people may quit because they do not like it, but that's just the way of life, not everybody can like everything. But I think the majority of them would stay tho.
Once again, thnx for trying to help, we appreciate it :]

The purpose of making limits in supplies in auto supply is so people can't only use them. There's no point in having the flamestrike scroll in your spellbook if all you're going to do is use the infinite amount of scrolls you have. I'm not saying remove them. Sphere PvP was based on scrolls. However, I do think there should be some type of limitation to them to force players to actually use the real spell, and not mana dump all of the time because of the infinite supply of potions in their backpack.
The .WoP command. Just because I don't have time to play now, doesn't mean I've never played. I played NoS for roughly 3 years, and they never had it and their PvP worked great nor did it take "forever" to finish. It came down to nutrition, and endurance. Scrolls were a kill shot. I can honestly say in the 3 years I PvP'd on their the PvP was never screwed up lacking the new "XUO" style of PvP. I'm afraid it's become a sad requirement to PvP. The idea of Words of Power is to LET you know what your enemy is casting THUS why it's in the game to begin with. Words of Power go back WAY before this. That's exactly their goal. Like I've said before I'd rather you just remove them entirely than see the annoying flood of spam.
I'm always willing to adapt, that's half of the fun in UO. No server is really the same, it's the staff's job to make it an original experience. Sometimes things don't work, and the player base is falling, so it brings me to the conclusion that this obviously isn't working.
Thank you for your time.
