That is a pretty big downfall to the pits, but it doesnt really matter. You can buy a 40k house and be 110% safe from the outside world. Earthquake doesnt work. Chain lightning doesn't work. Summons dont work like that. It is completely impossible to kill someone inside a house. So, all it would mean is that all the reds would, instead of sitting in the pits, be sitting in their houses afking away their kills, with the same safety.
The only thing I do like about the pits is that it seems like it will help more quickly diversify the world because newer players can more easily travel between major cities, and thus not only take advantage of what each region has to offer, but have a greater chance of meeting those people. Still, though, its not like this wouldn't have happened without pits.
