Yeah it is a little annoying... but it is sphere style.
Maybe we could just cut it to the first and last message? "You begin grinding ginseng..." and a few seconds later "You pour the completed potion..." or "You toss out the failed mixture".
This would meet the needs of cutting back the spam but continue to keep the sphere feeling.
