people should not be able to have such macros and gain shitloads of cash right now anyway o.O, since several staff members have tested this.
i myself have looked over many of the vendors scripts such as alch, mage, tailor, carp,bs,scribe etc etc only to see that the sell prices are fairly ok. i have lowered alot of sell values aswell, such as the sell value on wool, hides, etc.
its a nice idea tough, but people will have to travel to buy things anyway sicne there are a max stock on reagents etc on the vendors.
I don't think anybody even mentioned anything about a bug or "abusing the economy to gain shitloads of cash", but I guess it's a good thing you mentioned it. Like Odium said - staffmembers will do all in their power to make pretty sure that this can not be done, because once the economy is ****ed it's not coming back, so we don't want that to happen.
About the issue that was discussed though I'd like to mention that:
If we would use the idea of vendors only being able to buy for an specific amount of money, and only GAIN money if people actually buy stuff from them, then there's plenty of vendors who would sit there without any cash at all. For example - jewelers. Who does ever buy jewels? People just get them from monsters and sell them to jewelers, and if we'd have this cap then the jewel guy would all the time say "I can't afford to buy your stuff.. sorry..", and that'd suck in my opinion, I played at shard where it was like that, no fun. Everybody at the shard rushed to the vendor as soon as there was a worldsave or whatever, because that was usually when it restocked, but hardly anybody got their stuff sold, and most people had almost all their jewels (worth lots of cash) in their bank. I think that since we split the money you get from monsters i jewels and cash, then I think people would be able to get those jewels sold just by moving their ass to the jewel vendor with them ;p
However when it comes to other vendors that people actually DO buy stuff from, then I guess it could be an fairly good idea. However then the vendors would have to have fairly much cash on them, because people almost always (from all vendors) sell more than they buy.
