The Branding of Horacio
#1

--Translated from Dhemohn'ka to English through Babelfish--------- :p JK

---------------------------

Six years have passed since I left the [Daemon] Armies, which had begun to infiltrate Britannia. I had been asked to become a member of the Elder Council Guard. Being given the responsibility to protect and serve some of the wisest and eldest Daemons was something to be truly proud of.

I had spent the past five years protecting the Great Four. Vin’Rhaal, King of Daemons heads the Great Four. Khal’Mak, Arcane Master, Mir’Qal, Battle Master, and Vin’Rhel, Prince of Daemons complete the Council. Khal’Mak and Mir’Qal are true Masters and deserve to be there. Vin’Rhel is there simply because his father is King.

Over the years Mir’Qal and Khal’Mak had shown and taught me a lot, for we stood guard for them most of the day. The only threat was some of the mindless creatures which we shared the Underworld with. The humans could never make it down this deep…Or so we thought. It was almost one year ago when I found myself and fellow Brethren Vel’Nek stood guard when we saw torches coming in the distance of the caves. “Hora’Zheo! Humans! Alert! Kill the humans!” Vel’Nek yelled to me. We had waited for this day. It's time to test the Flame trap. I dusted off an ancient symbol against a pillar and held my palm against it. It began to glow. The trap had been set.
“Vel’NeK…wait and see. Do not attack.”
A loud voice boasted from behind me. It was the Prince, Vin’Rhel. “What is the meaning of this?? Attack them at once!” He growled at me.
“They are already dead” I muttered back as we watched from the darkened cave. “It is not safe for you here Prince, return to the Council Chambers.” I told him. “No, if you are so confident I will watch” he replied.

As they inched closer to the caves main hall, the same symbol from the pillar began emanating on the floor beneath the humans.
“What the H-“screamed one of the humans as bright pillars of fire began to fill the path. I had missed that sound. The sound of death. Don’t hear much of that unless you’re on the front line of battle.
“What was that?” asked Vel’NeK. “Ehehe…Human mechanics mixed with Daemonic Magic. Khal’Mak and I had been working on that for awhile now to create the ultimate trap.

As I was explaining the details to Vel’NeK, the unexpected happened. A human ran out of the flames towards Vel’NeK. He seemed to have some sort of magic shielding around him which was now fading. Vel’NeK had no chance. By the time I saw him, he already had his sword buried through his chest. I growled in fury as I flew towards the human and grabbed him by his head and ripped off his sword wielding arm. He cried out in pain and began begging for mercy. “Kill him now Hora’Zheo! NOW!” Yelled the prince. I spoke in English to the human “How did you find us?? No human has ever been here before! Tell me and perhaps I’ll spare you!” With his one arm, he slowly pointed his finger in the direction of the Prince. “H-he told us the location! He promised peace with Man if we killed the King!”
“Gwahhh” I yelled as I ripped off the humans head and turned to the prince. “He is lying Hora’Zheo, I...I would not do that” Vin’Rhel muttered without confidence. I slowly walked towards him, so angry and betrayed by this. I grabbed his arm. “My Father is a fool! I must be King! I cannot wait. Help me kill him and I promise you a place by my side” Those were the last words I remember for a few minutes. The next thing I knew, I was laying on the ground of the cave, with a Daemon heart in my hand. I looked down…The Prince…what had I done? I had no evidence of his crime. I went berserk with rage. His chest was ripped open; his insides were all over the floor, and all over my hands.
“What is this???” I hear from behind. The Council….The King…it was all over for me. I explained it all to him. He did not want to hear it.
“You, Hora’Zheo do not even deserve death. You deserve a much worse fate. You shall be branded a traitor, and exiled from our Land. All Daemons shall see you for what you have done.” King Vin’Rhaal bellowed.

The Traitors brand is not a small marking. It is a charring. The worst pain one could imagine, followed by a lifetime of solitude and shame. “Take him to the Branding Pit and scorch him…as a Traitor!” commanded the King to servant guard.

I was thrown into a cage over a large pit. Without warning, the pit burst upward in flames. That fire was hell itself. Daemons are quite immune to flame, but that pain was something new all together. The Greenish-Blue flame spread all around me. The iron-clad cage turned as red as blood. I screamed in agony, until I could take no more. I passed out.

Darkness...

I woke up to water drops. I opened my eyes. Rain? Where am I? As I gazed around the terrain while my eyes adjust to the light, things began to look familiar. Grass, trees, ponds….Disgusting. The land of Humans…Britannia. That leads me to present day, the story runs through my mind a million times per second. I killed the traitor, yet here I am with the branding. My charred body steams in the rain, cooling off. This branding has left my skin burnt and black, disfigured and scarred…all alone, with no one to call brethren. What happens next is beyond me. I have spent the past year wandering the land. Sleeping in a different cave every night. Killing those who wish death upon me. I still am not fond of humans, but I do not go out of my way to kill them any longer. That cause seems long dead to me. I am alone in this world, and I wonder, who will accept me?

[ooc]I still want to roleplay a Daemon, however I do not think I will go the guild route. I wish for my skin colour to be Black Rock Hue(hence my burnt body).I also hope I can have a daemon skull as those in [Daemon] have, however the same hue as my skin, black rock. [ooc/]
