I'll just answer it by writing as you do;
Maybe people buy rare leather armor because they want a colored leather/bone armor that looks cool? or maybe they want the colored armor to match with their cloathes/mounts etc? or maybe they want the colored leather/bone armor to match with their RP or R/R items?
I hope you understand the fact, that rare stuff is expensive and that will also be an answer to why people bother looking for them.
Pande Wrote:wearing leather armor doesn't make you look cool or rich. wearing adamantium armor matched with a ride makes you look pimp and rich.
Honestly! I haven't met a guy so narrow minded as you!
What makes something expensive? - It's rare and it's hard get. Leather armor that is rare, will make it expensive, therefore make you look "pimp and rich" as you express it. Did you have this 'high respect' for adamantium because it had high AR-rating? I doubt it. It's rare, and very few people had it.
Pande Wrote:to me, that serves more of a purpose then getting armor that will change your stats creating an imbalance between players. colored rides don't give an advantage in a duel, stat changing armor does.
High-armor-rated armors will also give you an advantage in a duel. The whole armor-rating thing, changes your stats indirectly. It would be simply the same thing, by increase your HP, by wearing armor, instead of having armor rating, as it is now.
Pande Wrote:from my guess these types of weps have been around since the beginning of uo. we are also trying for a sphere replica. now if you log onto an AOS shard you will see all the items have different bonuses or drawbacks.
This idea is nothing like AOS-items. If you would be a bit more open minded you would realize this.
Pande Wrote:if it's not a serious duel i doubt people even bother checking someone's weapon. the only thing they take into consideration is someone's armor type (ie it's ar rating) which they can judge by looking at their player.
If people don't bother checking someone's weapon, I can tell that the possible accurate on the weapon is irrelevant, and do not affect players playstyle at all. This means that it would be the same thing with leather/bone armor if the accurate idea was made.
Pande Wrote:if it's a duel to decide the winner of a 30 player tournament, MAYBE people will look at the other player's weapon and see what it's stat bonuses are ie +5 or +15 tactics.
First off all, you can differ a leather/bone armor from plate mail by just looking at it. I can't imagine why this would be harder to make conclusions, than by just look at a plate mail armor and see what color/ore it is. And then again, why would the accurate of the leather/bone armor have a bigger affect on the PVP, than the weapons would?
Over and over you're pointing out how irrelevant/unimportant the accurate on weapons is, over and over you're pointing out that the accurate-weapons has no effect on the pvp, STILL, as narrow minded as you are (/edited by Taran, arguing is fine but choose better words.), you can't understand that the accurate changes for the leather/bone armor has as small effect on the pvp, on the playstyle you chose etc. as the accurate on weapons has!
Pande Wrote:XUO pvp is NOT meant to be item based, and doing this would infact make items take a roll in the pvp. if you compare the 2 above players, that gives an accuracy difference of 39 points just because of their items... not cool.
Still I think it's wierd how the leather/bone armor with more accurate would change the pvp as much as you describe it, when the weapons don't.
Of course you could have a small advantage by having high accurate, but something that has a bigger advantage is by wearing high-ar armors. How come the high ar armors don't make the pvp itembased, when it has, and would have a much bigger advantage?

I do not enjoy your points.

I'll answer more of your arguments later. I think I'm fine for now.
