It is actually that way on OSI and a default RunUO install, though it doesn't affect accuracy, but your dex. If it ever gets implemented, this is the way I think it should be.

A leather armor only increases your accuracy a bit, nothing else. This will not be all that super useful in a tournament, and would most likely not be used by anyone besides noobs and super pros (cause pros like the challenge), everyone else rather have armor. Armor value would be superior in close combat. Using any armor kind would not give you a penalty, leather would just give you accuracy.

It could however work really well in situations such as ganking, where you don't get meleed a lot and where you use a bow, or in hunting, where you'd avoid close combat with the hard monsters and also often use a bow.

My personal opinion is that it would not ruin the PvP, it would not ruin the sphere feel and it would not be imbalanced any how. It would just make three aspects of the game more interesting, tailoring, bow craft & fletching and actually fletching (the action you preform on the monster).

I think it's more than a brilliant idea
