I agree,
RP adds a certain depth to the game that cant really be measured. It makes the world you play in..well...feel more alive, or more real. Some of the best times I can remember on IN1 were RPing around the Silverymoon Inn. Now I dont know if it was an "RP zone" so to speak.
But It might be interesting if there were some RP zones, where you're encouraged to roleplay. That doesnt mean you have to speak all proper and whatnot, I mean we are typing and trying to save as much time as possible. Just be in character, for example, based off your Guild/Alliance. Like if ur chaos, dont go humping order (well I guess unless your a rapist).
Also maybe it would be interesting to include some of the players who are more active RP'ers in Static ongoing Quests. Instead of having GM's create and play the role of a character in a quest story, give the role to a trustworthy roleplayer, and dress him up appropriately or something. Who knows, maybe a King gets crowned in the land, a known assassination attempt on an Order Guild Master is happening (A guildmaster is a target, order defends him against chaos), or maybe its a just a damsel in distress. If players wants these roles, then they'll have to prove they wont start going all 733+ on us.
Just a thought....may encourage RP'ing more...maybe not...let me know your thoughts.
