what do u mean by "fruit of his labor"? sry but i dont know much of the english word meanings or so. only basics :p

fruit of your labor means your work payed off.
farmers work really hard to make a good fruit, say an apple, you want it crunchy and sweet.
so maka worked hard to make a nice "fruit" ie shard.

for the same reason french verbs change for each tense and for each person (I, you, he/she, we, they, them)
