90% of the pvp is composed by FS and lightning.

How can you possibly ask to buff them?

also with FS and light Scrolls 2 players can take down the majority of the players
without the use of any other spell.

I Say: BUFF all the other spells.
We have 64 spells in the book and we attack with 2...
I would love to use mind blast, harm and energy bolt as well.

But you don't... I use at least 15-18 keys when PvPing so how is that 2 spells? that's not including keys or re-equip weapon macros..

It wouldn't be a buff at all it would be a rework, the whole idea was to make fs scrolls do more damage and consume more mana, as well as lightning scrolls. That means that you won't have enough mana to cast more than 3 fs in a row.

you are one of the player that has been here for quite a while and has pvp experience, Im sure you will agree with me that most of the "world pvp" is about spamming flame.
which is fun.... but could be better. Also twoshotting people with syncro-FS is fun...
but could be better.

casting 3 spells and then run out of mana is definitely not great fun.(also condering that at the moment medit is completely useless in pvp)

Im just saying... rework the other Direct Damage Spells so we can happily cast them.

p.s. one of the shard I liked the most solved the Scroll "issue" by increasing their weight so you could have a selection of them, but not spam them like there is not tomorrow.

I do agree that it is for the most part about spamming FS. Two shotting people with synchronized reg FS (after weaken of course) is also fun, however I don't think scrolls should deal the 46 dmg that spell does, although that is what I said originally. A value between 36 and 46 would be ideal (42). Of course mana would change accordingly.
I am STRONGLY against reworking all of the other direct damage spells. The only thing that this would do is create more types of scrolls to carry. I don't like the "solution" you posted (having scrolls weigh more). I like to carry as much resources as I want to carry.
Do not forget that there will ALWAYS be one nuke that is better to use than the other (in most situations). That should always be Flame Strike on a '51a style' server... The only direct damage spell that doesn't really work correctly is mind blast, pointless spell anyway.

Honestly Lynn I think you should spend a bit more time PvPing and becoming familiar with the system, because chances are that the system is going to stay just like it is now, with minor tweaks here and there. Do not expect a type of PvP that is essentially different then what we have now because that simply won't happen.

Thanks for the considerate reply.

I always liked idea of using different attacks for different situations.Than you have the players that only carry their favorites(but still deliver) and the "tryharder" that carry everything and always knows whats the best spell to use.

nevertheless the server is already very good and we are happy to adapt.

Im looking forward to some Pvp,Sadly without fullmana pot and scrolls is hard to perform decently. My whole team is working on it 24h a day on it, so as soon as we are finished we shall meet in the battlefield.

there are advantages to using explosion and energy bolt over FS. so as of right now there are 3 very powerful and very utilitarian nukes. eb and exp dmg are based on the enemy's armor rating, so i will let you play around with it to find out what you prefer to use Tongue

if you come from a server with a different PvP style then yes you will need to adapt a bit to get up to speed. but, that being said, i don't mean that the PvP won't be changed/tweaked in the future. i really wouldn't be surprised if there was action taken to increase the utility of spells like mind blast fireball and meteor swarm like you stated, but again i also wouldn't be surprised if that change doesn't happen considering there are already 3 very powerful nukes, 2 of them being based on AR rating.

I don't get why the whole spellbook needs to be strengthened, weapons and armours are considerably useless as it is.

You don't get it. You are not suppose to cast three flamestrikes and then run out of mana.. you are suppose to use them as a "finishing attack" after you have used your weapons, your other minor spells, etc etc, to get to the right point during the fight. One easy way to die would be to cast all the FSes right away and then be out of mana. A smarter way would be to use less mana costly spells to gain the upperhand in the fight, damage the opponent with weapons, get a good hit, get him to waste some mana, wait for the right time, then strike WHEN you have calculated that your three flamestrikes and a lightning will most likely kill him. If you notice after one or two flamestrike that the guy will survive you will have to cancel the last flamestrike to make sure you do not run out of mana, cause otherwise you will get your head bashed in the other guys melee-weapon.

What this damage change will accomplish during ganking is that it will balance it, because right now it is way too easy to stay alive even with just greater heal, because flamestrikes barely tickle you. People would not do as much brainless flamestrikes if it cost more mana to cast them, and if they did they would not be able to do it for as long time, so if they were just fsing brainlessly then they would run out of mana and you would get away, but IF they did everything right they would have a decent chance of killing you IF you didn't do a good job staying alive. It all makes sense really when you think about it.

No they are not. Sure nobody whose not completely insane would rush into 2-3 people with his bardiche trying to hit them instead of casting spells, because unless we would have "no move on cast" like OSI people with weapons CAN'T really keep up enough with people with spells to hit them when they are on their horse, unless the other guy also tries to hit back. It is the same way at the fizzle shard tho, out in the wilds people would focus on magic.

What balances this PvP at this shard tho is that you NEED the hits to win in a 1vs1 duel, because its too easy to survive against just magic dumps if you know how to. You NEED to hit the guy a few times before you use magic or you won't be able to kill him, so sooner or later (even on the horses) the two guys will clash into each other with weapons, or end up without mana.

I do agree that not enough of the other spells are used =p I've never seen a server that made use of fireball or meteor swarm, for example. Luckily EB and explosion are made really useful here.

Making PvP less dependent on scrolls is a good idea.
