Blacksmithing?
#1

well, although I keep changing my name I have played on the imagine-nation shards since the beginning. Does any admin have an idea about how blacksmithing gains are going to be like on in-x? On in1, it was fairly easy only required about 60k ingots, on INR it was insane (300k+?). This is basically going to be my main deciding factor on if I play or not, I just dont have that kind of time to dedicate.

Will be about as time consuming as it was on IN:R (if not more) but it will still be a lot more pleasant to gain. There is some other factors too though, that are in favour for you (UsBig Grin).

1. It's repetition skillgain. Macros are easy to make and easy to control.
2. Shard will not crash/restart once a day. Your macro will be running all the time until you stop it.
3. Requires less ingots, won't take as long time mine and won't be as expensive.

Omfg. I thought Coldrake planned to get the skill system and all which did exist at Imagine Nation 1.
Man 300k iron ingots that's ALOT! (You want that people don't go to school anymore, just to train there skills, Remember some old Xuo Players  IDIOTS)

thats why people macro blackfrog:p plus maka said it probably wont be 300k iron ingots. Slow skillgain like this forces the players to actually be dedicated towards the game and their characters since it will take time to actually get somewhere and people will want to get to that position. Anyone remember how Novus Opiate Seclorum was? Slow skill gain but we had a 350+ to 400 playerbase at some stage and Probe had to 'split' the servers to Novus 1 and Novus 2 because players worked so hard on their characters it is not that easy to quit.

yea but i also remember from NOS that i managed to get a fair amount of skill gain from repair. Inparticular the repair of damaged rare amour, is that going to be the case here?

The nail in my side is that mining is one ore per hit. If there is anything I hate, and I mean absolutely despised about INR it was that you could only get one ore each time you hit the ground. It's fine that smithing is hard and takes alot of ore. It's just a royal pain in the butt to accumulate the ore necessary. Personally I liked the fact that skills weren't repetition based on IN:R. But because things were so hard I'm looking forward to it being repetition based on INX.

This is not implented yet but I'll add it to the tracker.

You get a random amount of 1-5, depending on what ore you are mining. Mining takes 2-5 seconds. Eg, iron ore gives you 2-5 every mine, but something like aqua would give you 1-4 (these are just examples).

Ahh thats good news. On IN:R each time you hit the ground and successfully mined ore you could only get 1 ore max.

i bring up repairing rare armour because the acquisition of "lunar" chain and ring mail was a big part of the game. Besides selling for a fair price considerable interaction occured fighting for these items. there were many a time stewy ,stone and myself battled the russians at the city of the dead while killing the "lunar skeleton". it would be a shame to lose that. besides unless it's plate it's only gonna end up unused and useless in someone's bank box
