Basic Transportation Provided by Golden Casino

Brandon Wrote:I've pretty much set out to prove the point I was trying to make. You said you use a third party program to PvP successfully. You use it because it's faster and more convenient. It's not necessary to use Injection during fights. As you said yourself, it drastically improves your performance.

It's not completely necessary to use UOAM/UOC to travel Britannia and the Lost Lands. It helps with navigation, but it's not necessary.

Once again, we have runes and rune books. If a person wants to travel to another town they can use a rune. Most people choose magery as a starting skill and you receive 1,000gp daily for voting. If all else fails they can use the moongates.

There's just no logic with what you just said though, "YOU DON'T" have to use UOAM? are you joking how are you going to know where you're at. That's like throwing someone off a plane in the middle of no where with a parachute with no map no compass nothing leaving them stranded good luck with them finding there way back.

@Stony All players should be thought of and considered when making suggestions not just all the new players that have recently joined, that's how you keep such a good balance and a stable playerbase. It is an impossible job to be an Admin because they have to balance out everything so that all the players are happy to a certain extent.

I see the point you are trying to make, I truly do. But I was new player here as well not even 2 weeks ago I have done very well for myself with razor, uo cartographer, and euo. I don't think it is as difficult as you are making it seem.

No it's not but the whole idea of this is to just make it easier for players which Eru agreed to make that's all I'm getting at.

I think the point is that ultimately this is not necessary, we have runes, gates, runebooks(provided for staff) We can get around the world rather simply on our own.

I think there are better things to worry about right now for the staff, we need things to get involved in and things that we can invest our time into, we don't need a metro system to towns that aren't used or dungeons or other places of interest, we should find it ourselves, it's worked for the shard so far and clearly many players don't want it.

I would like to see who exactly voted yes and I imagine you would find it's rather biased.

Dude it's just making it easier on players as a whole. You wouldn't need the libraries anymore if they were removed there could be maybe something else made there. It's not about wasting time everything helps the shard in the end, and how won't it help people get involved and interacting? It won't be like brit bridge where it's announced that there's people at the bridge so they know not to run out and get ganked. There could be players in ocllo because there's a pad or portal to ocllo in the casino and nobody would even know they're there and have the chance to create more world PvP and have some actual use for other towns that are not being used.

Many people don't want it because there afraid of change, there's no reason to not add this there's been so many valid points as to why this is a good or bad idea and it's pretty evenly voted if you ask me.

I'd like to see who voted as well, your attitude is very rude towards the whole subject to be honest you can easily say the same thing that all the people who played old IN voted for no and that new/XUO players voted for yes.

I feel that this idea is very neccesary and would be a FANTASTIC addition to this ever-growing shard. I do not understand your examples as you contradict yourself in every post that I read ..

1) You say that we do not need a "Metro System" when you obviously already have one in Brit. You have every rune known to man in Brit .. Yes .. this benefits the BLUE players ..NOT the Red population .. which I understand you are not fond of but yes .. they are a part of the IN Playerbase. We are not trying to Create a Metro System but actually Modernize it and eliminate this "Biased Mentality" that is already seeping through IN like a venom.

2) When you speak of Biased votes .. please do not be the one to even suggest this as you sir .. Follow Prototype around on the Forums just to blast and argue and cry about every single post we make. Your vote is Biased if you ask me. You are a Player Hater .. literally .. you hate the Prototype players. Grow up and see the idea for what it is and what it can do for OUR server.

3) You say that there are "more important things" for the Staff to invest their time in but who are you to Judge that?! Eru posted this so I assume that you are talking nonsense again. Please post things that make sense. Think before you post. Don't answer with your "ego" but rather with your brain. Take others ideas with a grain of salt because when all is said and done .. the majority will rule.

Thank you.

If you want a similar rune library for red players just do the same thing?

That still wouldn't get people to use ocllo and such other towns that barley get used though.

Then I'm missing the point entirely of this proposed system? It's the same thing just a different method of travel.

EDIT: What I'm saying is that if your goal is to get people to use Ocllo and other towns and you think a red accessible rune library won't accomplish that, then neither will what is being proposed, as I understand it.

Azzo Wrote:Then I'm missing the point entirely of this proposed system? It's the same thing just a different method of travel.

It's just that .. by putting a Rune Library .. it just gives players access to go wherever they want in the world. By putting specialized portals, it forces them to use the un-used Zones. Ganking at Brit Bridge and Brit bridge only will get boring very fast .. Instead of going around killing new players in Dungeons .. This Portal to Occlo or Serps or whatever will encourage PKs to kill eachother in these territories.

I'm honestly confused what's forcing them to go to the unused towns. Is it the possibility? Because the possibilities are there already, as a blue player you walk into the portal tower basement in brit and you have 5 books with runes to just about everywhere.

If it's not the possibility then I can't see what it is that's forcing them to go to the unused zones. The original post is describing a gate which you walk into, and you pick a destination. Slightly different to picking a rune location in a runebook, but it's the same result.

So unless I'm missing something in the proposed system, you said it yourself, if a rune library won't force people to travel to unused towns then the proposed solution won't either. If you have other goals here I'm open to them.

Imo to get players to move to other towns you need to provide things of worth for people to want to idle there, not change how they get there. This can be done by player actions as well as staff actions imo. If all you do is change the method of transport people will just use it to go to the places they're already hanging out.

For what it's worth I voted Yes, towns only.

EDIT: Forgot to finish this properly. I like the idea of towns only, but I would recommend making it free for young players, and expensive for normal players. New players get a chance to see the rest of the world and normal players will probably continue using their established systems.

I want to add that I agree we could and should do things to encourage people to spread out of brit and away from brit bridge, I just don't think this really helps.
